Thinking a lot about my dad today.

His name is David. He’s from Savannah, Georgia. A lawyer by trade, an entrepreneur at heart, and one of the most consistent people I’ve ever known.

He grew up in a lower middle class family and worked his ass off to give me and my brother a life he never had. He built something real. Not just in his career, but in the values he passed down; work ethic, humility, consistency, and showing up even when it’s not easy.

I knew early on I didn’t want to follow in his legal path, and he never once tried to force it. He gave me the space to figure out who I was, and supported me every step of the way.

Fathers have a real responsibility. To pass on values. To teach what it means to work hard, believe in yourself, and not give up when it gets hard. I wouldn’t be the man or the entrepreneur I am without mine, and one day I hope I can be the same for my kids.

I also think about how this carries into leadership. It’s not the same, but it’s similar. When you lead a team, you’re shaping people. You’re teaching. You’re investing. If someone leaves stronger than they came in, that’s a win. That’s the job.

Happy Father’s Day to the dads who show up, support, challenge, and push the next generation forward. I’m thankful every day for mine.
