I didn’t get to spend a lot of time on the beach this year thanks to some health issues I’m having this summer, but I was so thankful for the slow morning porch conversations, beautiful sunsets every night, and a week surrounded by friends and family ❤️ …and can you tell who the crowd favorite was this year?!

God had different plans for our retreat of “Solemn Rest.” These ladies championed through a chaotic weekend of no hot water, a constant buzzing septic alarm, broken toilets, and a backed up septic tank. We ended up having to pack up early and go home. 👎🏼😭

We were not going to let Satan steal our joy, so we gathered up air mattresses and cots and spent the rest of the weekend fellowshipping and worshiping the Lord in perhaps the most restful place of all—in the home of our weekly Bible study.

If you know me, there are few things that I will prioritize over my 6:00 appointment with these ladies every Tuesday night. If you don’t have a group like this, start one! I’m happy to give you ideas of how that looks. We started with just a handful of desperate women, committed to learning more about the Lord. It may feel awkward at first or feel too hard to give up the time it takes to build a community, but trust me…it’s worth it!!!
