Chicago Part II — Wind and rain may have affected my hair 🥴, but it couldn’t dampen my mood on this special Sunday afternoon where I enjoyed a fabulous afternoon tea at the Peninsula Hotel @thepeninsulachi . Heartfelt thanks to our generous hostess @debhoban for a beautiful and memorable afternoon where Deb, Cathy @queencath810, Cathy’s daughter, Samantha, and I enjoyed an elegant and elevated experience with spectacular views of the city. The food and service were exceptional, and everything combined to form the perfect backdrop for meaningful conversations about life. What would we do without female friendships that share openly and honestly, while also supporting and uplifting one another? I came home feeling very blessed indeed. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Weekend in Chicago, Part I:
I felt like a pampered princess this weekend as I was hosted by my dear friend @queencath810 at her beautiful home in Chicago. Cathy is the hostess with the mostest! I truly enjoyed staying in the guest suite of her lovely home, where she thoughtfully provided everything a guest could possibly need or want. Every breakfast was a treat and dinner with Cathy and her husband, Rick, at their private Club was both delicious and delightful.

Cathy planned a fabulous day of shopping for us in Chi-town on Saturday with our mutual friend, the fabulous fashionista @debhoban. We were like “the three musketeers,” with all the laughing and silliness. My favorite boutique on Oak Street was @loropiana where the staff could not have been more enthusiastic or helpful (a special shout out to Stacy, who helped me select a few goodies.) Lunch at Le Colonial provided the pause that refreshes before Round II of our shopping excursion.

That evening, I met Cathy’s daughter-in-law Joann (a super smart and gorgeous young woman who is also an incredible mom to her two precocious, talented, and impeccably mannered children). Joann graciously invited us to enjoy champagne and the breathtaking views of Chicago from her stunning condo before we all headed off to a delicious dinner at Tre Dita in the Four Seasons hotel. “A good time was had by all” would be understatement… I had the most fabulous day! Then, off to bed for a most comfortable and good night’s sleep before round two of my first weekend in Chicago.

Lulu DK at Hive! I have long admired the Bahamas-based seashell artist, Lulu Dekwaitkowski @lulu_dk, but until I attended an event this week at Hive @hivetradeshowroom in West Palm Beach where she was interviewed by Sarah McCann @_smccann_ , I had no idea just how expansive her creative talents are.

In addition to her seashells, painting and print art, Lulu is an author and a textile designer who has now turned her creative eye to a line of wallpaper. Lulu has a blithe, bohemian spirit, paired with a warm and quietly confident personality. It was delightful meeting her and listening to her story. I found her enthusiasm for the creative process and living out one’s dreams to be truly inspiring. (And yes, I couldn’t resist bringing home some of her shell art.😉)

Actually, listening to Lulu made me want to go straight home and resume my own artwork! But instead, my friends @queencath810 and @debhoban and I headed over to Swifty’s for a yummy lunch. I mean… You can’t create on an empty tummy!

The Happy Hostess (moi) had the BEST time at my own soirée, welcoming @debhoban to Palm Beach (even if it’s just for a few days) and celebrating the joy of supportive female friendships. The annual Christmas Caroling party rocked. Over 50 singers and gallons of Glugg spread cheer thru the neighborhood. Special thanks to the “Ohio Ops Team” and the Jingle Girls! You hear them in the second video. This is one of my favorite Christmas traditions.
