The sun is out! There’s a new show at i.e.! Join us tomorrow in celebrating the opening of TROIKA: Head Body Legs!

TROIKA is a trio of women artists Julie Paschkis, Margaret Chodos-Irvine, and Deborah Mersky. Each of them successful in their independent careers, these artists have come together to collaborate and create work in conversation with one another since 1992.

Our opening reception is tomorrow, Saturday March 1st from 3-5pm!

Thank you SO much to everyone who came to the Grand Opening of House of Flowers last Sunday! To say that it exceeded my expectations would be an understatement. I was so blown away by the support we received and the sheer number of folks that showed up! Thank you for making this such a special day.

Join us in-person this coming Sunday for an afternoon at the farm shop! We’ll have an incredible selection of vintage clothing and apothecary goods, along with delicious charcuterie and offerings from some of our favorite folks. This also marks our unofficial grand opening! So far, we’ve been operating by appointment only, so we’re very excited to open our doors and welcome you to the space. We are conveniently located just off the High Road, about forty-five minutes from Santa Fe and an hour from Taos. It’s a beautiful drive in both directions, not to be missed!

We have been so incredibly busy with closing the brick and mortar gallery ( looking for a new space) and moving all the associated stuff that I have neglected to acknowledge all of the wonderful artists that participated in the incredible Cabinet Oak Project. The images shown here represent the pieces chosen for the auction, there were forty plus more incredible works in the Hangar Show at the ranch. It was humbling to see the sincere effort they put into creating the work from a rough log. What a leap of faith. Mark Smith and I could have never imagined the final outcome when I looked at those pieces of a very large branch and exclaimed “It’s an art project! what an amazing project it would be three years later. So gratifying to see my years of woodworking experience meld with art that I love so much. We want to sincerely thank all who participated. We especially want to thank The Friends of LBJ Historical Park for taking on the daunting task of administrating the project. We also want to thank the real provider of our feast, ex-Superintendent, Suzanne McDonald, who through her commitment to an artist-in-residence program at the park with the guidance and hard work of my partner, Mark Smith, saw the potential in the the fallen branch for some sort of project to benefit the park.

One of the sterling aspects of the project was Mark, through his many years in the Texas art world, as a PhD art historian and founder of Flat Bed Press in Austin, bringing so many well known artists to the project. And getting the great Sculptor, James Surls, the founder of The Lawndale Alternative Art Space in Houston, to create a monumental work from the branch as a permanent art installation at the park.

I also want to thank all the artists associated with A Smith Gallery that participated. Thank you for trusting our recommendation.

Again, so many sincere thanks go to the artists that created the work that generated a fabulous amount of money at auction in support of the future Artist-In-Residence program at the ranch…See the rest in comments below.
