For the past 6 months I’ve been kneading clay into a growing population of friends, family, bohemian prophets, exhausted mystics, and a myriad of folks found on New York City transit. And for maybe the first time in my life, the process itself has become more fulfilling than the result. Just the quiet joy of making something with my hands and discovering I actually want to return to it the next day. That said, after 6 months, some external validation would be most welcome. Enjoy :)

Ahhh #2016 what a whirlwind year that was. The close friends and fam remain the same. I taught a lot of hebrew school and directed kid theatre and also decided to move to NYC that year even though it wasn’t going to be full time til a year later. I auditioned for #broadway, got more work in VO, ADR, on camera, and in stand up than ever before and started my first series on YouTube. I also got to witness @bensplatt in #dearevanhansen on broadway. This past year, I found myself unemployed and questioning my place. The last thing I’d ever want is to be a drain on my family, but there I was, breaking the news that another final-round interview went a different way and feeling the dream of our life begin to deflate. Instead of giving in, my unwavering wife created new space to grow. I humbled myself. Instead of shooting for the six-figure job, I leaned into being a stay-at-home dad and adding value ground up. These photos weren’t taken in a moment of relief but a moment of acceptance and unconditional love for the journey of life. A few days after these joyous photos, life has surprisingly aligned in ways that can only be described as divine. I’m filled to the brim with gratitude for so many people who helped us stay in this fight, whether they know it or not. And to my partner, Caitlin, you’ve saved me more times than you’ll ever know. A lot of emotion going on right now, and although I put the positives out here on social does not mean the negatives are not right there no matter how much i try and tackle them one by one. I always say I put on social what I want people to see so the negative is not worth sharing. I’m back in NY now and it’s all being addressed. So… the good news was the cruise was nice, although my mom had issues walking. Her procedure went well and two more blockages in her right leg were “unclogged” but recovery took longer than expected. Saw some friends, visited my grandparents, had a wonderful time with my mom at a show (like mother like daughter) and saw a documentary made by 8th graders (who I knew) interviewing Holocaust survivors (one was 106 years old and there in person). Blessed@to be able to experience it all.

My birthday wish is that you all watch @notdeadyetabc ! It feels very kismet that my episode this year airs on my birthday. Birthdays make me very emo and reflective in general and now THIS ON TOP! I could not be more grateful to be a part of the NOT DEAD YET team! I get to go to work, tell jokes, and live out my dream. Thank you to everyone who makes this possible and everyone who has helped me along the way. Cheers to 27 years and episode 208!!!! (Also that beignet truck seems pretty fitting right about now⚜️) 💞💞💞
