🙏🏻Whoa! Emotional much?!😐😢🧡
After three years on SBS On Demand, international screenings, awards, glowing reviews, and heartfelt messages from across Australia, our little film has reached the end of its journey. 😢

We’re beyond grateful to everyone who watched, shared, cried, laughed, and reached out. It travelled further than we ever imagined , from ABC TV and radio to RRR, PBS, community stations, zines, to a Q and A at a New York University! It helped break stigma, sparked honest conversations, and made people feel seen. Even yesterday, after one final sbs screening, the viewers are still messaging me!

Before it was a film, Mental As Everything was a live show. Adam and I performed it everywhere, festivals, theatres, tiny halls. People would come up afterwards and finally feel they could speak about their OCD or bipolar.

That meant everything.

Now, the film and the show take their final bow. If you haven’t seen it yet, tonight’s your last chance. SBS demand it🙏🏻

Huge thanks to everyone who made it possible, our team, led by producer Matthew Briggs 🧡🙏🏻, the musicians, venues, SBS, ABC, Regional Arts Victoria, Andrew and Myles, and so many more. Can’t mention them all here as Insta doesn’t allow posting a novel!

Full credits are in the film but … Declan, thank you for the animation! And Sabs, 🙏🏻 for the title song’s vocals! 🧡

And Adam, thank you, mate. 😢🧡🙏🏻The film’s last scene’s monologue says it all. We have had a beautiful journey! Love you 🧡

And finally…the third and final part of Mental As Everything returns next year as a book…I’m halfway through. Wish me luck with the publishers!

With love and gratitude,
Damon. 🧡🙏🏻🎄🌈 thank you for your support always!
Xxx

Our finished 3/4 sleeve - incorporating the skeleton’s embrace, specific floral, a goose, and specific mountains by elevation, and a lot of negative space. It’s been an honor to work with such a cool guy, we loved having Kevin essentially move into our studio and hang out with us all day for lots of days.

Friday jazz night at Nice Guys! Music from 7:30, looking forward to playing with Jack Pantazis and Ash Smith. Artisan brews, good company and live music. Sounds like a winner to me. Great photos by @studio_drew_

Shoutout to @declantigerillustration for the beautiful hand painted design on my 18” @kentville_drums kangaroo head. Declan is a true artist and ran with the initial concept to create something beautiful and truly Australian. The head reveals beautiful sunset tones when backlit. My A&F Maple Club drums, Sugar snare and Craig Lauritsen cymbals, as per usual.
