Two years, one River North loft, and hundreds of invisible decisions that only feel inevitable in hindsight. That’s always the goal: for all the time, thought, revisions, problem-solving, and construction dust to disappear—and the finished space to feel like it could never have been any other way. We can’t wait to show you more of our #DoubleOrNothing project. Photo: @rymcdon Styling: @kimberlyswedelius

Two things shaped this River North loft from the start: function and color. A home with this much drama still has to live beautifully, so we focused just as closely on flow, storage, and everyday comfort as we did on making the most of its soaring scale and architectural character. Color became the thread that pulled it all together—warm, layered, and considered, without feeling tied to a particular moment. Stay tuned. We’re just getting to the good part. Nearly two years in the making, this River North loft renovation began with spectacular bones, and a series of unusual challenges. A previous renovation had divided the lower level with an awkward mezzanine, compressing a dramatic 15-foot volume into two underwhelming spaces. The connecting stair was steep and uninviting, and the home needed an entirely new sense of flow, finish, and warmth. Our client loved the openness and industrial character of the space, but wanted it to feel like a true home: layered, comfortable, and full of personality. Not a sleek bachelor pad. We’re so excited to share how we reimagined it. • Anna Knight Interiors | Chicago Interior Designer | River North Loft Renovation | Double or Nothing • #RiverNorthLoft #ChicagoDesign #ChicagoInteriorDesigner #ChicagoLuxury #LoftRenovation

A shoot day two years in the making. The River North Loft has been a labor of love from day one, and none of it happens without the team who shows up, sweats the details, and turns a construction site into a home worth photographing. Full reveal coming soon! A special thanks to @rymcdon and @kimberlyswedelius for always making sure our projects are captured in their best light, and for the relentless behind-the-scenes work by @arkwrightconstruction to make our visions reality. • Anna Knight Interiors | Chicago Interior Designer | River North Condo Renovation • #RiverNorthLoft #LoftRenovation #ChicagoInteriors #ChicagoDesigner #NewProject

More before and afters from our #CityHaven project. We reconfigured the kitchen for more flexibility and flow while maintaining the original footprint. Dual islands add space for both meal prep, homework, and better circulation throughout. If you ever find yourself in the position to have a double-sided fireplace, this is your sign to say ‘yes.’ The reading room in our #CityHaven project was a new addition that not only expanded the footprint of the home, but drenched the adjoining spaces in light, too. Embracing the fresh fluidity, it was a natural step to open up the existing living room fireplace into two. After @lg__group and @deconstructarchitecture reconfigured the original stack, (which was no easy feat!) we finished the walls in creamy plaster with dramatic marble mantels. Just off the #CityHaven kitchen is a cozy family room meant for casual lounging and play. Leaning into our client’s vision of a mountain farmhouse aesthetic, we introduced exposed beams, warm woods, and plush fabrics, balanced with contemporary finishes for an urban interpretation of the concept. #BishopStudio Design Team: @jennielbishop @velvet.by.design @taylor.zientek.design Photography: @mikeyschwartz Styling: @wasselpa Builder: @lg__group @litchka07489 @speed_is_relative Architect: @deconstructarchitecture

As see in @luxemagazine, the custom bar in our #CityHaven project was one of the last elements to be installed and it is a prime example of what we would call, ahem, ‘worth the wait.’ #BishopStudio Design Team: @jennielbishop @velvet.by.design @taylor.zientek.design Photography: @mikeyschwartz Styling: @wasselpa Builder: @lg__group @litchka07489 @speed_is_relative Architect: @deconstructarchitecture
