Stacy and I led the Leelanau Ruck Club onto the TART Trail.

The Distance: 4 miles

The Reward: 4 miles of conversation plus some aggressive "strategic snacking" at Farm Club.

Good work by the crew. We put in the miles, then we enjoyed the caffeine. #milesearned #communitybuilt and @farmclubtc coffee.

GET AFTER IT. (Then get a scone). ☕️🔥

The quote of the day “Community Built is what I love about this patch”

This was said as our group of 8 enjoyed a post event beer and meal at Cherry Republic. We had just finished our 12 Mile Ruck to honor Garrett Opper. Friends laughed and smiled about the day. New friends traded phone numbers. We all talked about how we felt and how excited we are for next week's group ruck.

The camaraderie we all felt is what Stacy and I envisioned when Chris Naff suggested we have an honor ruck in Leelanau in solidarity with the Jax Beach event. That feeling is what GORUCK means to us - Building a better community one ruck at a time 🎒

The day started by honoring Garrett outside the Glen Lake Fire Department. We were all touched as I shared who Garrett was, how he impacted his community, and his battle with mental health. One of our ruckers immediately texted a buddy letting him know he was thinking of him - that alone made the event impactful.

Shout out to our friends Mimi and Barry for earning their Garrett patch while in Florida. Plus our support crew in Andy and Vicki for join for a couple of miles 😁

We're pumped for the community we are building in Leelanau.
