I’m now taking in-person clients exclusively at Dedicated Strength here in Washington, DC. Thank you to Joe and Angela, the owners and heart of the DS community, and to the students who come in every day to pursue strength—strength that carries over into every aspect of their lives, not just their physical fitness. I am so excited to continue my coaching career with this DC studio and local small business.

What a dayyyyyy. This meet spanned 8ish hours. It was wild, nerve wracking and awesome🤘

Forever grateful for this opportunity and to @dedicatedstrengthdc for riding this rollercoaster with me, guiding and coaching me. We put everything we had into the journey leading to this day and it will be remembered always.

Loved getting to lift with ladies who are crazy strong and inspiring.

Big thanks to the whole DS fam for all the encouragement and cheering me on — along with my super kind friends and family.

So thankful @sarahheartsitall was there to support, laugh and share this moment.

SpongeBob arms versus 40kg.

My training PR is 42 but 40 is the most I’ve successfully bench pressed in competition. Very excited for what’s possible next time I hit the platform.

Clean lockout vibes only.

This was right before I started using the belt, but this cue from @dedicatedstrengthdc has been huge for more consistent deads.

“No belt, no sleeves, no wrist wraps — you’re going out on the platform butt naked.”

My first meet! It went about as perfectly as we could have hoped! I went 9/9, meaning I made every lift attempted.
.
Squat: 60kg, 65kg, 67.5kg (1st vid)
Bench: 32.5kg, 35kg, 37.5kg (2nd vid)
Deadlift: 82.5kg, 90kg, 95kg (3rd vid)
.
Body weight: 48.9kg
.
My squat and bench attempts were pretty conservative - but perfect for the nerves of my first meet and keeping enough energy in the tank for a PR deadlift.
.
All in all it was an amazing day with amazing people. I can’t thank my coach @dedicatedstrengthdc @returnofthejoedi enough for guiding me in this incredible sport.
.
Got to meet really cool powerlifters, including a 10-year-old who broke a world record, see powerlifters beating their own records and watch a marriage proposal. The energy was electric and honestly one of the most fun days of my life.

We’re ready to crush it next Saturday 💪

Mock meet was a breeze. Haven’t felt so at easy with real weight on the bar in a long time. This is one of my favorite places and I had a blaaaaast today!

Good day to have a good day.
Powerlifting is fun. It’s usually a good day in the gym when I remember that.
.
1) 63kg Squat. (139lbs) Squats were a little shallow today, but this is a solid rep. Goal for every rep between now and my last squat at the meet is no doubt on depth.
.
2) 75lbs Bench. I’m in love with bench at the moment. I get to take my time with this lift and I love it. Practiced with unpredictable handoffs today to be ready for anything! .
3) 85kg Deadlift. (187lbs) Sometimes I dread deads. I think I have imposter syndrome, as if my PRs were a fluke and I’m not strong enough to repeat them. Today, my goal was not to fear the weight and just trust I could move it. .
I didn’t pay any attention to how much was on the bar today until I was looking back at these vids (so my b if I did the math wrong). It really frees up my mind. And if I don’t think about how much is on the bar it’s hard to doubt that I can lift it. .
Mental self-sabotage is a major struggle of mine. But this is fun! I have to remind myself I love it and to enjoy it. .
9 days out. 3 training days left. Let’s gooooooo. .
