Feels like the last five years have been rocky/explosive/an unending transition (personally & on a global scale), but I’ve learned that the only way is to create, to love fiercely, to keep going. Some highlights of 2024: January - 10k walk with my Pops loves, February - Egypt trip with @bernardineevaristo, March - launching @bibliothequepopenguine, April - home with my favorite person, May - absolute cuteness in Accra, June - first birthday party in new home, July - launching @popenglace on-the-go, August - more cuteness, September - Scottish highlands with Mr Saha, October - Grandpa love, November - celebrating two years of @rolex mentorship with family, December - birthday month 🎉. Bonus: Dec 31, releasing the past year. January 1 - bonfire & dancing on the beach. Happy new year, everyone. As always, thank you for the continued support. Here’s to hoping that this year brings us all calm, good health & joy. (And more books, Ayesha 😉).

How to talk about this incredible weekend? After two years of working together, @bernardineevaristo and I shared our final stage as mentor and protégée under the auspices of the Rolex Perpetual Arts Initiative. Bernardine introduced me to her world. We shared battle tales. She taught me to dream big, and I leave the program understanding the true value of community - because you have made me a part of yours, so thank you, Bernardine. Thank you to the Rolex team for saying yes to all of these dreams and a special shout out to Jill Morrison, who is a real life fairy Godmother. @irenosenokojie, you were amazing! To my co-protégés, hashtag yourock. @songyijeon - your powerful performance will stay with me a long long time.
