Pure unapologetic Naija-Trini energy here! Bcos YES @thebpao hosted a sophisticated medical gala and YES I won a distinguished award but it was also a PARTY 💃🏾💃🏾! So YES I hit the dance floor and grabbed a hotel dinner napkin to ‘wave my rag’ for the soca set, … and my medical colleagues did the same!!! bcos iykyk! And I brought all my Naija audacity into the Afrobeats set - abeg make you no jealous me, make you no vex 🙏🏾 - DJ was 🔥🔥🔥 - I’m not to blame!!! This was a party dripping with Black excellence!! The BPAO Gala was 🔥!! I’m deeply honoured to have received the Health Equity & Advocacy Leadership Award from @thebpao Black Physicians’ Association of Ontario!! The gala was beautiful—a celebration of excellence, leadership, service, and community. It was inspiring to be surrounded by so many remarkable award recipients whose work is advancing health, equity, and opportunity across our communities. Congrats to all award winners!! What made the evening especially meaningful was sharing it with my children Jaden & Elias who came on stage to accept the award with me, ❤️ family, friends, colleagues, learners, and mentors. After the speeches and celebrations, we danced well into the night! Seeing so many friends, colleagues, and supporters come together to celebrate this milestone was truly special.
