With just two more week till the newest edition of The Culture Code we are so excited to announce our second batch of amazing speakers:

Deel de Duif is a Dutch interfaith dialogue initiative that aims to bridge divides between different communities through mutual understanding. It began as a response to the rising social tensions in the Netherlands after the events of 7 October 2023 in the Middle East. Drawing on our own experiences, we created a workshop that teaches others how to have difficult, polarising conversations. Combining principles from nonviolent communication with mediation techniques, we developed our own Deel de Duif approach. It started out aimed at school classes, but over time it has reached more and more professionals as well. Participants learn concrete tips and tricks for discussing complex topics. The idea behind Deel de Duif is simple: if we give people the tools to open up conversations on polarising topics, they can use those tools themselves and help make the people around them a little more understanding.

At the museum where I work in Salento we are presenting this exhibit about courageous Albanian Muslims who saved Jews from the Nazis during World War II .

During the opening on the first of July, a choreography by Feri de Geus which relates to the theme will be danced by Fjolla Ibrahimi and Liah Frank.

Also present will be Selma Boulmaf and Noa Duzend from Deel de Duif who will give a workshop on intercultural dialogue the following day. I'm very excited about this program and if anyone is in the neighborhood please join us.

Thanks to the City of Nardo and Francesco Plantera, alderman for culture.

“Dialogue, if you do it right, is painful and confronting. But it does not only solve conflict, it prevents it. And sometimes, like in our case, it brings friendship.” - Deel De Duif

🇺🇸
Looking back on the Four Freedoms Award ceremony, one message stands out: our freedoms are fragile and by no means a given. The stories shared by the laureates and presenters made that painfully clear.

At the same time, the ceremony also brought hope. With warm applause and deep respect, we honor the laureates. They show us that it takes an extraordinary amount of courage, struggle, and perseverance to prevent our freedoms from succumbing to oppression. And they also show us how powerful we are when we fight that battle for freedom together. 🫶
