Boy do I feel guilty about the cover photo. But honestly, this is the world we are living in. It’s a world where we reward people for lying to us. If your feed is like mine, it’s full of these tactics and people trying to sell you the sales formulas they are using to hook you back to you as if you didn’t just see them at work! Of course, I have a problem implementing these tactics successfully- because it’s not really me. Frankly, I’d rather get down to the real business of making art, helping others make art, aaaand freeing myself from the sameness washing over culture. If this interests you, you may find community in Playful Substance. We are building community, space for actors writers, directors, and audiences to awaken and exercise their creativity. Want to know how you can get involved? Check out the resources in our linktree. Go to playfulsubstance.com and find our Artist Services section. sign up for something. Ask for things! Support the space we are trying so hard to build. And you can be part of building it- wherever you are in the world! Got questions? Comment below. Send me a message. Book a Story Skills Consultation! I enjoy making these every year because it's so easy to find myself at the end of the holidays feeling overstuffed, lethargic, and a bit down. Going through my camera roll to create this brings the bright, beautiful, and meaningful moments back to the forefront and a sense of gratitude and joy for all that we did experience and achieve. 2025 was a truly chaotic one. It started off with the shockingly rapid dismantling of democracy (and human decency) in the US, throwing many markets and economies (including ours in Canada) into a chaotic tailspin. Our world became increasingly divided as the ruling class seemingly received permission to abandon empathy and replace it with greed and hate. Science and logic abandoned. Fact replaced with opinion, censorship, and propaganda. ...and for my dear cancer community, the tragic defunding of cancer research. This hung like a shadow over me all year. After the first few months feeling overwhelmed and helpless, I had to shrink my world and focus my attention closer to home to protect my sanity - enjoying time with friends, family, and exploring my city. These moments big and small are peppered throughout this video. Ryan and I continued our nostalgia tour at 8 major concerts: Silverstein & Thursday; Incubus; New Found Glory, Jimmy Eat World & The Offspring; Dashboard Confessional & Goo Goo Dolls; Taking Back Sunday & Coheed; Oasis; Yellowcard & A Day to Remember; and Thrice. Live Music was a big theme, and the year was tent poled by Camp Breastie and Thailand. Both experiences lit me up and filled my cup in ways words can't describe. At both I truly felt like this is where I belong and what I'm meant to do with my life. So here's to 2026 and seeing how I can inject more community, self expression, Breastie magic, adventure and cultural immersion into my life. This year also brought a new kind of grief with the passing of a dear friend - my Camp Breastie co-cabin lead @lizzyisthriving. Your limitless love and kindness will stay with me for the rest of my life. I love and miss you. #stage4needsmore. Sending love to family mourning the passing of Uncle Terry, Bernie, Mr. Gilfoy, and Dr. Jonathan Standley. Happy #NYE2026

𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗯𝘆𝗲 ✌🏼 ✋🏼⁣ ⁣ 2025 you’ve sure been a YEAR for us here at J&E Meats! You’ve challenged us, you’ve shaped us, you’ve brought us closer together and you’ve provided for us in all ways! ⁣ ⁣ We are so grateful for another year serving you from our farm. To think just 3 winters ago, it was nothing but a barren corn field and now? We feed thousands of families; we’ve grown our team to almost 10 people; we’ve donated almost $20,000 back to our community - and it’s all been because you believed in us, and you’ve supported us! ⁣ We’ve had a lot of fun along the way this year; and met so many cool people! Thank you for the opportunity, we still pinch ourselves sometimes wondering if this is all real! ⁣ ⁣ We can’t wait to serve you again, or first the first time in 2026! We have SO MANY big things coming for you this year and can’t wait to share the journey! ⁣ ⁣ Josh, Emma & the entire J&E Meats Team! 🤍⁣ ⁣ _____________⁣ 📍 J&E Meats On Farm Store & Butcher Shop ⁣ 29892 Oakdale Rd, Croton ON ⁣ 519-365-7800 • www.jandemeats.com #jandemeats #farmstore #butchershop #ckont
