Ever wonder how much creative work actually lands on the cutting room floor? Jeff Wilson of Deeper Graves and Chrome Waves reveals the reality of his songwriting process, including why he had to slash a nine-minute synth improvisation down to a more tolerable length. It’s a fascinating look at the struggle between letting an idea run wild and maintaining the focus required to build a cohesive album. For anyone balancing creative ambition with the realities of the modern music economy, this insight into intentional songwriting is a must-watch. @deepergraves

Stop scrolling! The work ethic here is absolutely wild. Witness the moment Jeff Wilson (Deeper Graves/Chrome Waves) reveals his actual formula for sparking *six* solid song concepts in a single night. It all begins with the foundational bass and drum groove—a masterclass in efficient creativity. Serious insight into building cohesive album journeys over just dropping singles. @deepergraves

🤯 The visual recipe for this album art is a mind-bending mashup! Picture this: a collision between vintage taxidermy aesthetics and the iconic, hazy vibe of My Bloody Valentine's *Loveless*. A truly unique collision of underground influences coming together for one killer look. You gotta see the thought process behind this visual world-building. @deepergraves

Join us for an exclusive conversation with Jeff Wilson of DEEPER GRAVES as he dives into the making of the band’s third album, Pull Me Toward The Dark.
From the buried vocals and atmospheric textures to the emotional weight behind each track, Jeff opens up about his creative process, solo vision, and how DEEPER GRAVES serves as a counterpoint to his heavier projects like Nachtmystium and Wolvhammer.
We talk about:
Why the lyrics sit subtly in the mix
The evolution from Open Roads and The Colossal Sleep
Pulling back the “esoteric veil” on this project
Inspirations from The Cure, Portishead, and post-punk legends
The balance of solitude, introspection, and sonic atmosphere
Whether you’re a fan of Joy Division, Killing Joke, The Sisters of Mercy, or just discovering DEEPER GRAVES for the first time, this interview is a must-watch.

So about a hundred months into 2026 and almost as many ongoing wars and atrocities later, we’re still in March. If nothing else, there is at least still a bunch of amazing music being made so that our doomscrolling through the imminent endtimes can be briefly interrupted by the sounds produced by some of these wonderful human beings whose muse still hasn’t up and left for a planet with more intelligent life than this one. So, basically, any of them.

Anyway, let’s celebrate a few of those February highlights, and despite the absence of our Andy this month (it’s for a good reason, go look: @therapyofficial), we’re still in the best of company - apart from the constant spiritual presence of our buddies at the @mondonegro record store, none other than the mighty Rennie Resmini, vocalist for the legendary Starkweather @starkweather666band, fantastic writer and weird music connoisseur like few others, has stepped in with his picks. So, onwards - and yes, my “five records” rule has definitely been abandoned because frankly, fuck the rules.

José’s picks:
Adrian Crowley - The Birdwatchers EP (@valley_of_eyes_records)
Deeper Graves - Pull Me Toward The Dark (@disorderdesignco)
Hoaxed - Death Knocks (@relapserecords)
Keys To The Astral Gates And Mystic Doors / Bloody Keep / Sanguine Wounds - Split (@grimestonerecords)
Mayhem - Liturgy Of Death (@centurymediarecords)
Speglas - Endarkenment, Being & Death (@tnor.se)
Volores - Shores Of Scorpio (@rookie.records)

Rennie’s picks:
Zabus - Avoidance Moon (@saccharineunderground)
Anurrn - theurn (MetalGate Records)
Diva Karr - Call Me Nothing, the Absence. (self-released)
[4672] - [apex9] (Spectrosphere Records)
Ingrina - Nåværende Lys (@a_tant_rever_du_roi / @medicationtimerecords)

Real talk from the underground scene! 🎤 Hear the philosophy behind tearing down the artifice—the costumes—in music creation. This creator champions the idea that the best art comes from the artist's core desire, not the pursuit of a #1 hit. It’s about focusing on writing *good songs* for yourself, even if that means blending unexpected elements like heavy influences with undeniable hooks. Authenticity over aspiration. That's the secret sauce for music that truly connects. @deepergraves
