I took a trip out to Mystic Creek this weekend and thought highly of the course!⛳️

I heard this course’s name a handful of times but I never thought it would be as good as it turned out. This one deserved high ratings and I’d call this course a hidden gem especially on the Lakes 9! I’ll be back! 👌

Price after 4pm: 18 holes - $52
Value: 9/10
Fun: 10/10
Overall: 9.5/10

Let me nerd out real quick
Proper posture and optimal spine angle aren’t just about standing tall—they’re foundational to how energy, movement, and force transmit through your entire body, our bodies are a web of interconnected fascial lines. The posterior chain (think glutes, spine, and hamstrings) is the powerhouse that stabilizes your structure and propels your golf swing.

When the posterior chain is restricted—whether by tight glutes, a stiff thoracic spine, or lack of spinal mobility—your body compensates. This leads to inefficient movement patterns, increased risk of injury, and lost power in your swing.

Here are three essential movements to restore balance and function:

1️⃣ **Glute Max Stretch:** The gluteus maximus is the engine of your posterior chain. A targeted stretch helps release fascial restrictions, allowing for better hip extension and pelvic control. This is crucial for maintaining a neutral spine and generating force from the ground up.

2️⃣ **Thoracic Spine Extension Over a Foam Roller:** The thoracic spine acts as a bridge between your lower and upper body. Extension over a foam roller mobilizes this region, improving rotational capacity and posture. This simple practice helps unwind the slouch that comes from modern life, restoring the natural curves that support efficient movement.

3️⃣ **Cat-Cow:** This classic movement is more than a warm-up—it’s a dynamic way to rehydrate fascia, activate the spinal stabilizers, and increase segmental mobility. By flowing through flexion and extension, you’re teaching your nervous system to coordinate movement across the entire chain, from sacrum to skull.

When you integrate these three movements into your routine, you’re not just working on flexibility or strength—you’re reconnecting the lines of tension and support that allow for fluid, powerful, and pain-free movement. In golf and in life, the quality of your posture sets the stage for everything else.

Final Day at the Rocket Mortgage Classic!

I’ve been to the event every single year since they’ve moved to Detroit. My favorite part unlike any other sporting event is being able to see some of the golfers up close!
Congrats to Aldrich on the win this weekend after the 5 hole playoff! ⛳️⛳️

Train smart, train hard. Coordination should not suffer when you’re building strength.
Mobility shouldn’t suffer when you’re building strength.
Flexibility and joint stability don’t have to suffer when you’re gaining strength.
