🇬🇧And what advice would you give to a young kayaker who wants to progress, evolve?

A little mental tip?

🇬🇧Something I really like is « visualising ».

🇬🇧On a rapid, for example, you look at it, you imagine your movements and you can close your eyes to visualise what you are going to do.

🇬🇧It’s mainly something I do on big rapids, and I think a lot of kayakers do it.

🇬🇧For me, it’s almost like music.

It was Eric DEGUIL who told me about it.

Each paddle stroke corresponds to something, depending on the river.

It’s as if the river was a score and you play on the river

🇬🇧“VISUALISE”

-Allows you to be in full the moment.

-Allows you to be focused on the right lines

-Allows you to delay and manage the stress related to commitment

-It’s a tool that can be learned

-Practice and training reinforce the usefulness of this tool.

"He has rarely seen the Ubaye like that. Only once before had he encountered that much suspended sand."

Twenty-four hours before winning the Ubayak, @deguil_eric paddled the Ubaye River like he had never seen it before. Overnight, the river took back what it had just taught him. Cédric Eyma reports on an unusual brown-water descent of the Ubaye the day before the @ubayak_festival, a reconnaissance run that preceded a double victory for Éric.
