2021 Masters World Champion W45/81kg. My life is filled with wonderful people, dogs, barbells & skating.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Thank you all for your support, donations, and words of encouragement as we send off Tara, Sean, Deridre, and Team Manger/athlete wrangler Clair to Athens, Greece this week to compete at the Master World Championships!

The opportunity to represent our country, our club, and our chaotic little community is not lost on them. They will be jacking the “gram” and sharing their story as they go.

So proud and excited for them. They deserve this opportunity to showcase their hard work on the world stage.

These nails are headed to GREECE!! 🇬🇷✨

A few of our Master lifters are heading to Athens to compete this year, and I was SO happy to create these nails for @deirdrecoburn! 😍

Subtle Greek vibes with a little nod to being a Canadian lifter 🇨🇦🏋️‍♀️ — I love how these came together!

Cheers to having a blast and lifting the heavy circles!

We turned empty cans into a photoshoot… now let's turn them into tickets to Greece!

We've got 3 athletes heading to Worlds in Greece, and every bottle and can helps get them one step closer to the platform.

🥤 Bottle Drive this Saturday!

Bring your refundable bottles and cans to the gym anytime this week, or swing by on Saturday if you can.

Can't make it? Send us a message—we're happy to arrange an early pickup!

Every return helps support travel expenses for our athletes as they represent us on the world stage. Thank you for helping turn empties into opportunities! 💙

Now excuse us while we continue our very serious "hydration" training. 😉

We like to think we balance fun and focused work evenly.

But somedays get a little extra.

One of our Coaches, training partner, and biggest supporter is moving on up in Calgary. Had to send em off in the best way we could.

to be honest, i really debated pulling out of this one. i wasn’t there mentally and the idea of competing exhausted me. with all of this, my one goal going in was to find my sparkle. i didn’t care about the numbers, i just wanted to feel like me again.

i am feeling very thankful for those i was surrounded by during my session. from the giggles in the backroom to those cheering and supporting me from the crowd, it all made the experience incredible and truly meant so much to me.

for my first sr provincials, i’m proud of what i accomplished, and i am proud of myself for having so much fun while btrying. i am so unbelievably thankful i got to end my season on such a positive note 🤍

Masters National Championships 2025

One heck of a way to end the season!

By the numbers:
- @sean.wutzke 2nd 🥈
- @planetclaaiirree 2nd 🥈
- @tyranosauraslex 3rd 🥉
- @deirdrecoburn 1st 🥇

Competition PRs for all and @deirdrecoburn Set Canadian records 🤯

Also a shout out to @emi.mundell who was on the organizing committee leading the social media and communications front (and set up, tear down, food runs, athlete support, and more)

This competition marked the first Open category meet as well. A welcome space for all genders, all people, all friends. Weightlifting is for all.

As always The IX arrive early, leave late, and cause a little chaos throughout 🤣

Thank you to our friends:
@siennab18 for hairstyling
@cwallace27 for “cigs in a can” lol 😝
@sansnom.28 for a surprise appearance!
@albertaweightlifting for hosting
@joelkingstonphotography for photos
@scarlett_alexander27 for the Team Shirts!
The Skate Canada mafia
All the volunteers, organizing committees and bar loaders that spent hours, holiday time, and cash to get this together!
@cdn.masters.championships
@chinese.siu.mai

If it’s not fun, it’s not worth it.
This was definitely fun.
