Finally had my day in court for what felt like the longest divorce in history.
Not that I’ve ever been through one before, but you get the picture. Ten years, fully invested, hopeful, and admittedly a bit naive.
Today, the judge granted me the freedom to move forward with my life and to reclaim my last name, something I never realized I’d need permission to have. I’m deeply grateful for the people who held space for me
the ones who listened to me repeat the same stories without judgment. My brothers, who helped me face hard truths and see clearly.
My pastors, who prayed and cried with me.
My kids, who loved me through every tear, every quiet moment, every day they simply just showed up. And above all, I thank God, for meeting me exactly where I was and never leaving me there. 🙏🏽 I actually began grieving my marriage back in 2019, the year I got pregnant with my daughter.
I didn’t realize at the time that what I was grieving was the end,
but divorce is its own kind of death. When two become one, separation tears that apart.
It’s painful, but it also clears the path for resurrection. ✨ In one year, I faced brain surgery, separation, job loss, and parenting through my children’s personal crisis all at once. Through it all, I did the hard work of healing.
I didn’t run from the pain. I didn’t numb it. I didn’t want any distractions. I told God I wanted to feel it. When I couldn’t pray, I cried.
When I needed laughter, I created it I asked God for a new heart, not a repaired one, but a new one.
Untainted. Able to love again, freely and without residue. 💛 Now, here I am.
Don’t feel sorry for me, I don’t need pity.
Celebrate with me. This is a rebirth. The comeback is personal. 🕊️ To anyone walking through something heavy, I see you, and I sincerely empathize.
What feels endless won’t last forever. You will heal.
You will make it through.
That’s a promise. Don’t mourn what once was.
What’s coming is so much greater. It gets better! 💫 The hard part is over with. 🤍 #TheComebackIsPersonal #LifeAfterDivorce #HealingJourney #FaithOverFear #BeautyFromAshes #GodHeals #NewBeginnings #DivorceRecovery #BecomingHer #PurposeInPain
