This one is hard to write.

Phoenix, thank you. You’ve been home for most of my life. You gave Kailee and me a place to start our family, a community that had our backs, and the freedom to take chances and build something we believed in.

I found my people here. Bartenders, chefs, owners and dreamers who believed something special could happen in the middle of the desert. Watching this hospitality community come into its own, and playing a small part in it, will always mean more than I can put into words.

To everyone who chose to work alongside us: thank you. I watched barbacks become bartenders, bartenders become managers, and managers become leaders and owners. Nothing makes me prouder than walking into a place you built. You brought our ideas to life, and watching you grow has been the greatest reward of my career.

To our guests: you became family. You showed up for opening nights and slow Tuesdays. You celebrated milestones with us, brought your friends, and kept coming back. You helped build those bars, and I’ll always be grateful.

With all of that in my heart, I’m proud to share that I’m joining MGM Resorts International as Executive Director of Beverage Strategy. This next chapter takes me to Las Vegas.

Vegas has already changed my life twice: it’s where I won the cocktail competition that changed my career, and where I met my wife. Now, it’s bringing us back for another chapter.

I’ll head out first, with Kailee and the boys joining me down the road. For her, it’s a homecoming. For our family, it’s the beginning of something new.

Phoenix, you’re not getting rid of me. I’ll be back often for family, friends and the bars that raised me.

Thank you to everyone who helped me get here.

Vegas, let’s get to work.

A huge congratulations to all of our friends recognized by The World’s 50 Best Bars 2026. 🥂

And an especially big congratulations to our friends here in New York City. We’re incredibly proud to be part of a community that continues to inspire, push the craft forward, and represent our city on the world stage.

At Stone & Soil, we believe collaboration is what makes this industry special. Sharing a bar, exchanging ideas, learning from one another, and building friendships across cities and countries are some of the best parts of what we do.

To the friends we’ve collaborated with, the bars we’ve visited, and everyone we’ve had the pleasure of sharing a drink with, congratulations. So well deserved.

Here’s to all of you, and to many more drinks together. ❤️
