September was a month filled with meaningful conversations across Colorado!💙

While Suicide Prevention Month may be over, the conversations around mental health, connection, hope, and sucide-prevention continue year-round.

We’re grateful for every opportunity to show up, connect, and share the message that 988 Colorado is always here for everyone.

| Grateful |
I was finally able to 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 and not only that, I was able to “Send” a big line again🙏(a clean walk with no falls). Which definitely wasn’t on my bingo card by any means, given my recent health matters
•
This line is something very special because it’s the 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐚 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐑𝐢𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐑𝐢𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐚ñ𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐨. This beauty is 400 meters in length and stands close to 335 meters high. It literally felt like I was walking across the Grand Canyon…👀
•
It’s a honor to have had the opportunity to walk this line, and get the FA on my first crossing, as well as to share the send with @da_logster and @proffventure 🫂🩶
•
𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 @communityhighlines 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 @da_logster 𝗽𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. I know many people have dreamt of this moment, and it’s a blessing to be a part of it🙏
•
𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵, 𝗜 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗴𝗶𝗴, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗹𝘆, 𝗜 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝗳 𝗜’𝗱 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲! Given everything that's happened over the past couple of months with my recovery from spinal surgery and going septic (old proxy speedflying accident), I really wasn't sure how I'd feel or how my body would respond once I stepped back on the line
•
Feeling incredibly fortunate and grateful that the stars aligned on this project. It all just happened, and somehow it felt natural to be back❤️
•
Truly another reminder to just 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗚𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴!! You never know what's waiting around the next corner

Memorial Day spent snorkeling with @vetxtherapy & @aquariumdenver 🐠 It was a great time swimming & hanging out with other veterans. If you haven’t checked out @dekeletson’s project to bring veterans together after their service, please do! It’s a lot of fun with great people! #veterans #snorkeling #travelcalled #therapy

So there is this dude on the gram @kevins_jiujitsu we have followed for quite some time cause his content is absolutely hysterical. Just recently we found out homeboy is a Marine! We will look past that and be nice to him, Joe the Producer @jallensocal will have to translate all the grunts and finger pointing for the listening audience.
Dude owns a Jiu Jitsu academy, has a happy little family, and makes stoopid fun content. That is literally livin the dream. Well we get to talk to the poor bastard tonight cause we know there are some of you out there going….. nah, I could never do that. Well you are correct, but he went and did it. So tune in at 6pm Colorado time for some of the absolute worst dad jokes you have ever heard, and maybe a little inspiration.

VETXTHERAPY - FREE FOR VETRANS! This is a prime example of how for-profit and non-profit can make a difference in our communities 🤝

When @dekeletson invited me to experience the VetXTherapy experience, there was no way I could say no. @adventuresoutwest was so gracious to volunteer their time, their people, and their resources to make this experience for @vetxtherapy and the people they serve.

It's a beautiful collaboration of a business giving back to a community that's already given to their country, but also giving to a community who might just need a little bit more of a push to discover how much more life there is after military service.

Richard Branson of Virgin Airlines calls it the "Ring". We have a ring of community that we can positively affect as businesses, and each business should choose its ring, whether it's a world agenda, a community center, or your own family. YOUR skills and resources can make all the difference.

On that note, I'm constantly in awe of how many organizations in Colorado are willing to support each other and grow each other up. Outdoor recreation is so transformative in people's lives, and sometimes it just takes providing access to see what's out there.

Did I ever think ballooning would be on my list of outdoor recreation? Absolutely not. Is it now? 💯💯💯💯

At the 2025 Colorado Outdoor Leadership Summit, I led a panel with leaders from the public sector, private sector, and nonprofit organization. Our focus: getting wellness and outdoor access to the people who need it most - veterans, frontline workers, educators, and other community heroes who serve us every day.

Beyond the conversations, this is about impact. Nature-based therapy and outdoor experiences provide real mental health support when people need it most.

The turnout was incredible, and what energized me most was connecting with educators and leaders in our industry who are equally committed to serving our communities. We’re not just talking - we’re looking for real opportunities to drive impact and create change.

This work matters because people matter. Grateful to everyone who showed up ready to serve and make a difference.

When we interviewed Mike Durant a few weeks ago, he said something so profound that it just hit so hard with me and a bunch of the listeners.
“ we as veterans spend a lot of time talking about our VA disability rating, and not enough time talking about our ability rating “
Our longtime friend Jen from @freedomballs heard that and jumped on an opportunity. She sent us a very heartfelt note and a huge stack of these stickers. ( peep the background of the stickers) if you want one you gotta catch up to Joe , Seth or myself quick, these are going to go fast. Veterans, we really need to reflect on this one.
