Final (days) home

I wrote a play about how much I love theatre. How much I loved growing up in it and making my favorite memories in it, although I never expected to have taken such a liking to it all those years ago. I also wrote it about the slippery slope of conformity, and how easy it is to blend in, when you know the right choice means sticking out. Above all else, I wrote it about how it feels to grieve when someone you love dearly passes away. How life feels when you suddenly need to swim alone when you’ve always had water wings to keep you afloat.

It is so scary to put your own writing out there for others to scoff at, or judge, or see what goes on inside your mind. Especially for the very first time. It really does feel like you’re wearing your heart on your sleeve at all times. But let me be the first to say that watching people take a chance on your work, and put their absolute all into it, and then go on to surpass any expectation you ever had is 100x more rewarding than letting any insecurity hold you back. Always take the leap. 🪶

Thank you to the most endearing actors who went full throttle with this new and chaotic work. Thank you to the creative team who worked tirelessly to create visual beauty. Thank you to all patrons of the arts who continue to support live theatre. And as always, thank you to M+Y for being the best team I could ever dream of.

Until next time, BLACK BOX 🌈

And @two.sisters.productions … we will see you next season ;)

And that’s a wrap on Black Box!

An incredible play written and directed by @laurkbp which I had the honor of composing music for! Soo cool watching everything come to life with the incredible actors and creative team.

Stay tuned for the released soundtrack🤭🎶
