That was the best 50,000 minutes of my life.

Before this summer, I never could have imagined how much the Governor’s Scholars Program would change me. I came here expecting to learn, but I’m leaving with something so much more valuable, people who have become a part of my life.

The friends I made turned ordinary moments into memories I’ll carry with me forever. We laughed until we couldn’t breathe, stayed up talking about our dreams, supported each other through challenges, and somehow became a family in just five weeks.

Coming from every corner of the Commonwealth, we all arrived as strangers, but we’re leaving connected by experiences that only we will ever truly understand. This has been the best summer of my life. Not because of one big moment, but because of the countless small ones shared with people who made me feel seen, accepted, and inspired. GSP didn’t just give me an unforgettable summer; it gave me friendships that have changed the way I see Kentucky, my future, and myself. I’ll always be grateful for the people who made this place feel like home.
