We've been proud to partner with University of Delaware Athletics for years, supporting Blue Hen student-athletes and spirit teams on and off the field.

Dr. Zwolan recently had the opportunity to meet with UD's team doctor to discuss how Simon Eye can continue supporting the vision and eye care needs of their athletes, including routine eye exams, glasses, prescription sport goggles, contact lenses, and medical eye care.

We love being part of the Blue Hen community and look forward to another great season. Go Blue Hens! 💙💛

So Proud of Ava & Brooke! 🚣‍♀️🇺🇸

This weekend, Ava and Brooke represented our program at the USRowing Youth National Championships, and what an incredible performance they delivered.

They finished 2nd in their heat and 17th in the nation—an amazing accomplishment at one of the most competitive youth rowing events in the country.

It’s hard to believe that Rob and I started our Learn to Row program in 2022, and now we’re celebrating athletes competing at the national level. What began as a vision to introduce more students to the sport of rowing has grown into something truly special.

Our goal has always been to help students find a sport they love, build a strong foundation of strength and fitness, develop sound rowing technique, and learn the discipline, resilience, and grit that come from pursuing excellence.

Watching these athletes grow from beginners into national-level competitors has been one of the most rewarding experiences of our lives. Every student who has been part of Concept Crew has played an important role in building this program. The culture, camaraderie, and success we’ve experienced belong to all of them.

As they close this chapter, we’re excited to watch what comes next. Ava will continue her rowing career at the University of Delaware, and Brooke will be rowing at Duke University. We know both of them have bright futures ahead.

Ava and Brooke, congratulations on an incredible season and an outstanding performance at Nationals. We are so proud of you both and grateful to have been a part of your journey.

Today, we celebrate four incredible student-athletes who are graduating from our program and continuing their rowing careers at the collegiate level.

💙 Brooke → Duke University
⭐ Talene → Vanderbilt University
💛 Ava → University of Delaware
💚 Caelin → Loyola University Maryland

Watching these athletes grow from beginners into confident competitors, leaders, and teammates has been one of the greatest rewards of coaching. Their success is a testament to years of hard work, early mornings, perseverance, and a commitment to the process.

At Concept Crew, our mission has always been bigger than rowing. We strive to use this sport to open doors, build character, and create opportunities for young athletes to achieve their goals. Seeing these four take the next step in their journey is exactly why we do what we do.

We couldn’t be prouder of everything they have accomplished, and we can’t wait to see what they achieve at the next level.

Senior Spotlight 🎓✨

Today we’re celebrating our co-founder, Amari Randall (@amari.yvette ), a senior from the University of Delaware (@delawarerowing | @udbluehens | @udelaware ) graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering and a heart for creating meaningful change. Next up: gaining industry experience while preparing to pursue graduate studies in Urban Planning and Design with the hope of building a career rooted in technical excellence, sustainability, and creating opportunities for underserved communities through thoughtful development.

When reflecting on her journey, one word stands out: opportunity.

From simply being given the chance to walk onto the team, countless memories and opportunities followed, including the incredible honor of representing the United States on an international stage. At Delaware, she became part of historic moments for the program, helping build momentum and contributing to milestone achievements, including a historic V8 finish at CAA Championships and the program’s highest team team finish at the time.

But one of the moments closest to her heart has been co-founding BRAID alongside her sister Joy (@joy.neal.27 ). Watching the community grow, seeing its impact, and creating spaces where people feel seen, represented, and connected has been one of the most meaningful parts of the journey.

Her words of wisdom:

God is faithful forever. He is consistent. Trusting in Him and taking steps to get to know Him is one of the greatest things you can do.

Amari!! Thank you for the way you have led, served, built community, and shown up both in and out of sport. Your impact reaches far beyond results and records. We are so grateful for who you are and cannot wait to see how you continue creating spaces, places, and opportunities that leave people and communities better than you found them 💛💙

Senior Spotlight 🎓✨

Today we’re celebrating Amina Mai (@_aminamai ), a senior from the University of Delaware (@delawarerowing | @udbluehens | @udelaware ) graduating with a degree in Medical Laboratory Science and a minor in Global Health. Following graduation, she plans to begin working as a Medical Laboratory Scientist while preparing to apply to medical school.

One of the highlights of her collegiate journey was helping her team earn a historic second-place finish at MAC Championships this spring, an accomplishment that marked an incredible moment of growth and momentum for the program. Being part of a team achievement that leaves a lasting mark on program history makes the accomplishment even more meaningful.

Her words of wisdom:

“Comparison is a thief of joy! You are living the life you are meant to live so you should enjoy it!”

A beautiful reminder to embrace your own journey fully and recognize the value in the path uniquely meant for you.

Amina, thank you for the dedication, positivity, and immeasurable impact you’ve brought both in and out of sport. We celebrate not only your academic and athletic accomplishments, but also the perspective, joy, encouragement, and ✨SPARKLE✨ you’ve shared with those around you. Congratulations, and we are so excited to see all that’s ahead Ms. Future Doctor 💙💛
