WHEN a man truly loves a woman, he creates a night she’ll remember forever. Former MLB All-Star Gary Sheffield lit up the city in celebration of his beautiful wife, DeLeon Sheffield; a woman rooted in faith, family, grace, and purpose.

We celebrated 50 years of a life well lived while looking forward to 50 more years of happiness, blessings, and bliss. Happy 50th Birthday, DeLeon!

I’m so grateful for my dear friend and sister in Christ, Tina Jackson. Her love is genuine and authentic, and I truly thank God for her. It was also wonderful seeing my dear sister, Carolynn Jones. What a beautiful surprise it was to see her and her husband, Kendrick, walk into the celebration!

The entire evening was absolutely amazing and unforgettable. I’m grateful to have been in the room with an all-star lineup of people from the church, entertainment and music industries, current and former professional athletes, and wonderful everyday people that traveled from all over the nation; “all united by their love for DeLeon.”

Such a beautiful grounded family!

God is the greatest! ❤️

Last night, @jhoodmartin and I skipped the @cbcfinc dinner in DC to travel to Tampa to celebrate the 50th birthday of DeLeon Richards Sheffield @deleonrich. Her husband @garysheffield threw her a surprise birthday bash and it was epic! Fantastic music was done by @quinnsmusic and my man @dnice closed it out. He had us sweatin’!!! It was great to celebrate this occasion with so many great people. They told us to wear blue, gold and/or white. Well, I had the perfect African outfit with all three!

❤️ The love between @GarySheffield and his beautiful wife, my longtime friend @DeLeonRich Sheffield, was meant to be — and it had a little something to do with ME! ❤️ Hey, that could be a song! 🎵😂

God simply used me as a vessel when I made the introduction between the two during NBA All-Star Weekend in New York back in 1998! I only knew DeLeon, a talented gospel singer, personally. Gary, a Major League Baseball player, just happened to be in the right place at the right time for me to make a subtle introduction. And Gary told DeLeon he knew she was going to be his wife when he met her that night! ❤️ There’s nothing like a man who knows what he knows!

DeLeon was just 20 years old at the time! Now, after 27 years of marriage, my girl DeLeon is celebrating 50 years of life — and she has so much LIFE in her years! 🙌🏽✨

I was happy to be a special guest among 150+ family members and friends celebrating her in style in blue, white and gold. 💙🤍💛

What a grand time we had in Tampa at The Sapphire! DeLeon, you are a special woman of God, and I know you have so much more in store for you in every area of your life. ❤️

Your album “My Life” was the album that made me fall in love with your voice before we ever met. And you already know I’m ready for you to release another album, Songbird! 🎵🎤🎶
