Pererenan has talked about this for long enough.

Speeding bikes. Modified exhausts. 3am revving. Dinners interrupted every few minutes. Residents asking the same question over and over again:

What is actually going to change?

This week, two hospitality businesses stopped treating it as somebody else’s problem.

@openhousebali said riders caught speeding to or from the venue would be banned.

@dellaterrabali followed, saying dangerous riders and motorcycles with modified or unnecessarily loud exhausts are not welcome.

We think they deserve credit for it.

This isn’t anti-motorbike. Bali runs on motorbikes.

It’s anti-being-an-idiot-in-someone-else’s-neighbourhood.

Restaurants, bars, hotels, gyms and cafés help make neighbourhoods desirable. They bring people in. They benefit when an area becomes somewhere people want to spend time.

That also gives hospitality more influence than it sometimes realises.

Imagine if 20 venues in Pererenan adopted the same position.

Dangerous riding to or from the venue? Don’t come back.

Needlessly loud modified exhaust? Park it somewhere else.

Treat the village like a racetrack? Spend your money somewhere else.
Two venues doing it is a statement.

Twenty venues doing it becomes a standard.

We bring a little México to Pererenan, and we’re proud to call this community home. With that comes respect for its people, its streets and its tranquility.

Our neighbours are our familia. They deserve safe streets, peaceful nights and a community that looks after each other.

Loud exhausts & reckless riders are NOT AMIGOS.

If you ride dangerously or disturb our neighbours with unnecessary noise, you are not welcome at ORIGEN.

👏 Mucho respeto to @openhousebali for taking the first step, and to @dellateterrabali for following their lead. We’re joining you in standing up for a safer, more peaceful Pererenan.

Come for the tacos. Stay for the margaritas. Leave with respect. If you’re drinking, let someone else do the driving.

Ride slowly. Keep it nice. Look after our comunidad.
