Mimi Bouakham is voting #NiravongHaycraft! Read below to learn why YOU should as well! Mimi is a Junior studying International Studies in Asian Comparative Politics with a Political Science Minor and Peace Studies Certificate. Mimi is a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, UK’s Political Science Honor Society and is one of the founders of UK’s chapter of Delta Phi Lambda where she also previously served as Marketing Chair. She has also served as a coordinator and coalition member in SGA for Diversity and Inclusion. Here is what Mimi has to say about Niravong Haycraft: “Aside from the fact that Niravong Haycraft's three core values resonate personally for me, Brooklyn and Patrick have both proved their deep passion for the community around them over and over again. I had a chance to meet and work alongside Patrick during the Kentucky's Governor's Scholars Program, I took time getting to understand him and his values as a student and how he always insisted on making sure those values can always benefit the youth. He is a kind soul; one that many looked up to and was inspired by during this program, and he did it effortlessly. Ever since I met Brooklyn during our freshman year, I got to personally see her grow in influence, a trailblazer. She showed consistent involvement in bringing a community of diversity and inclusion at UK and have never hesitated expressing her love for the people around her. She has an unstoppable fire and determination in her heart and mind. She sets her intentions and she goes for it 100%, and she is someone that brings hope to Asian American women in Kentucky, from one ethnic Laotian to another ethnic Laotian. It's amazing to see such a strong duo working together wanting to bring change in the student body. These two are what we DESERVE for Student Body President and Vice President. They both are two strong, authentic, and courageous leaders with much capability together and for UK's student community; they are worth endorsing and standing alongside” Would you like to endorse Niravong Haycraft? The amount of success, fun, challenges, lessons, and most importantly growth we've all experienced as an organization together is immeasurable. The impact the @ukydems has made on @universityofky is evident, and next year we'll strive even higher to achieve our goals on campus. We are looking forward to next year as we leave this one with a very strong foundation. In the meantime, do not forget to vote in the Kentucky primary on the 17th and to keep the wonderful candidates we met this year in mind! We hope that everyone has a restful and fulfilling summer until the fall, see yall soon!
