a very honest review of every matcha spot in berkeley 🍵

#bayareaeats #sfeats #matcha #cafehop #berkeley

@foresteabar

+ sesame matcha latte
+ oat milk matcha latte

genuinelyyyy top tier matcha!! the sesame matcha was probably the best one i’ve ever had. it’s a pretty small cup & a lil pricey but matcha quality was so good and they rly take the time to whisk it in front of you!

@sanmatcha.co

+ rose matcha
+ matcha latte
+ hojicha latte (unpictured)

new (ish) spot on north side of campus! the matcha and hojicha itself was really smooth and pretty strong. the interior is also superrr cute, definitely a great study spot and they have a small photobooth inside!

@bingecoffeehouse

+ pandan matcha
+ binge matcha

my favorite spot for a sweeeet treat! everything is on the sweeter end but rlyy nice if you’re craving a pick me up

@cafegara

+ matcha w/ soy milk

matcha was a little watered down, possibly cause i chose soy milk :( their vietnamese coffee though is very scrumptious so i’ll rec getting coffee over matcha!

@mindcoffee.ca

+ banana pudding matcha
+ orange blossom matcha
+ matcha latte

the matcha itself is honest pretty good!! my favorite is their banana pudding, a little pricey but they really give you so much banana topping. they’re always superrr busy during the week so service… :(

@dematcha.us

+ banana matcha
+ peach matcha
+ sesame matcha (unpictured)

i rave about this spot to all my friends fr. definitely a sweet treat typa spot but so! good! super spacious interior, good place to do work if you can snatch a seat!

@yumemori.matcha

+ yuzu miso matcha
+ strawberry hojicha

yuzu miso was super unique and the presentation was cute but matcha taste was def on the lighter end. not overrated but not my goto spot

@8gramsmatcha

+ matcha latte

like one of the best matcha lattes i’ve had in berkeley. you can actually taste the matcha flavor (i like my matcha on the stronger side)!!

@cereteaxyz

+ osmanthus matcha

mmm i might’ve chose the wrong flavor buttt the matcha itself is super duper strong in the sense that we were all hella caffeinated.

matcha tier list in 📍 berkeley

based primarily on 1. matcha grassiness 2. tas
