Three years ago, I had the honor of having my granddaughter, @demikendrickvb, join me on stage where we flipped the switch for the 93rd annual Plaza Lighting Ceremony! The Kansas City tradition marks the official start of the holiday season! Proud moment for me, my family and the @nlbmuseumkc!

Thanks to the Derrick Thomas & Neil Smith Third and Long Foundation for selecting me as one of their “Lifetime Achievers” honorees. I’m excited to accept the award at their “An Evening with Greats” dinner banquet tonight.

The Derrick Thomas & Neil Smith Third and Long Foundation strives to “sack” illiteracy by providing the support necessary to improve reading skills of students in the Greater Kansas City area.

Tickets available at www.thirdandlong.org.
