things I’m grateful for this July (and always!) ⭐️

hi lovely people, I hope this month is treating you ever so well 🫂

I’ve had a nice pause from social media over the last few weeks, which has been so refreshing. it really allowed me to soak in my birthday weekend to the fullest!

I had such a wonderful birthday - now onto chapter 27 ⭐️ - and I’m feeling incredibly lucky to have spent it in a beautiful city + lots of my favourite activities!

from daily swims + saunas, long walks, visiting my favourite art gallery, reading and perusing bookshops, to yummy eats + drinks, and everything in between - I am filled with so much joy and gratitude.

I truly do think to myself every single day how lucky I am to live this life. I will never take it for granted. 🤍

I hope the rest of this month is good to us all x

Highly recommend heading here if you're with a group of friends and have an event to get to after - amazing food options, for everyone's tastebuds, quick food service and great vibes! I realised this time that drink options are great too 🥃🍸

📍De Niro Ristorante, Elliott Stables

Found a great little spot for an easy Italian fix! De Niro Ristorante inside Elliott Stables has such a cozy, rustic vibe. I would say it’s perfect for a quick lunch catch-up.

I tried the chicken fettuccine and fettuccine alfredo, which both were super creamy and loaded with toppings. I also shared a Hawaiian Pizza which had a really good, crispy base. The portions are huge, so you will definitely leave feeling full!

The service was quick, which is always a plus. It’s a bit of a hidden gem if you’re looking for something affordable and tasty in the city. Definitely worth a visit if you’re around Elliott Street!

☀️ Out & About

📍 @mekongbaby - first time in ages, but what a great night! We ordered: pork and ginger dumplings, popcorn prawns 🤤, lamb ribs 😋, crispy pork belly 🤤 😋, beef pad see ew, duck Massaman curry, roti, and prawns with egg noodles. So good! Also shout out to the Miss Shanghai cocktail…and of course the service.
📍 Gorgeous tree on Ponsonby Rd 💕
📍 Brunch at new cafe @honeyspringsnz which has a great spot in Onehunga. I ordered one of their signature drinks which was espresso, yuzu and soda. It was nice and refreshing for a warmer day. Also the signature eggs Benny which is a spin on the classic - fried eggs, bacon and hollandaise but with Japanese soufflé pancakes. A real sweet/savoury mix. The pancakes weren’t as fluffy as those in Tokyo, but were very light and had a delicious flavour to them. I enjoyed the dish but think I’d go a classic Benny next time. Also super keen to try the sweet soufflé pancake version as that looks like a standout.
📍 Brunch at @kawaukitchen near Auckland airport. What a great spot! Heaps of light coming through the large windows, and nice peaceful location on the weekend apart from the odd plane flying over. I ordered the rum & raisin pain perdu. I loved this dish. It definitely had bread and butter pudding vibes but with a velvety custard and stewed apple. Yum.
📍 @andjulietnz at The Civic - what an awesome show!! Such a great night.
📍 Pre-show dinner at @theelliottstables and I decided to try a classic chicken and mushroom fettuccine from @deniro_restaurant - so good!! Unsure why I’ve never tried this before as friends love it, but will definitely order again.
📍 Lunch from @revivecafes - roast cauliflower dal with salads. Lots of flavour, and so much goodness.
📍 Green bowl with poached eggs from @eatdrinklaugh_pollenst - first time there, but will be back. Such a great menu with lots of healthy options.
📍 New cafe @omokoreanbowls on Shortland Street. Fresh, clean, healthy vibes. Shout out to the chicken and avo, and the build your own bowls. Fried chicken freshly cooked to order. This will be a regular lunch spot for sure.

Hey Food Fam 👋 right in the heart of the city, @theelliottstables is your go-to when you just can’t pick one cuisine 🍽️✨

We went all in and tried from @tacoamaiz @deniro_restaurant @birdonawirenz and @lepaknz , and honestly, that’s the way to do it here. The vibe is warm and bustling, with that cool European food hall feel perfect for casual catch-ups or group hangs. Service was quick, the variety is unbeatable, and every bite hit the spot 🙌
