Drawing from the frenzied, exhausting motions of the traditional Italian tarantella—a ritualistic dance said to cure a spider’s poisonous bite. Theo Hsiah translates existential rage and the pursuit of freedom into his latest collection for HSIAH. Observed silently by the three fates, the dancer’s frantic devotion to finding purpose becomes a cathartic release, captured through a surrealist lens that weaves blurred memories and subconscious experiences directly into the fibers of the garments. It serves as a visual memoir and a poignant warning against overthinking our greater purpose at the expense of actually living it, reminding us how easily dedication can lead to disillusionment.
