Mostly missed focus, the honesty of lactic acid, and people worth keeping.

Last weekend, the Chiemgau Alps filled up again.

Shoes got muddy. Calves got muddy. Socks got muddy. Shorts got muddy in places nobody remembers introducing to the ground. The weather kept changing its mind: cold, wind, rain, the full Chiemgau tasting menu. Stoaacker came back. Hochplatte did Hochplatte things to people. Cowbells did what cowbells do. And people returned from the mountains wearing that very specific expression somewhere between relief, disbelief and the kind of hunger that removes all standards.

And then our good friend Karin Hahn won the S-race outright, becoming the first woman ever to win an overall ranking at CTR.

That deserves its own line.

CTR is not officially a SALTY event. But Dominik is SALTY, and Dominik is CTR, so standing at a polite distance was never really an option.

Behind all of it were the people who make a day like this feel effortless from the outside: the ones who know where everything goes, notice what needs doing before anyone asks, and keep moving long after the first runners have crossed the line.

Dominik, Sally, Paula, everyone who helped make this happen, and everyone who raced: congratulations.

Round 10 next year 👀

CTR started it all nine years ago. Didn’t have a clue back then, still winging it now. Hope we never get too good at knowing better.

Zweite Mal am Start. Zweite Mal beseelt.

Liebs.
