Receiving the Guardian of Resilience Award for Exceptional Performance in Crisis Communications during Hurricane Melissa at the Constabulary Communications Network’s 50th Anniversary Jubilee Gala is a moment I’m deeply proud of.

This recognition belongs to CCN Area One, Team One.

Area One was among the areas hardest hit by Hurricane Melissa, and in the aftermath, our responsibility was clear: serve, document, inform, reassure and tell the story of service and resilience unfolding across St. James, Hanover, Trelawny and Westmoreland.

To my team, Constable John Wilks, Constable Josef Blake and D/C Javan Green, thank you for trusting the journey, embracing the mission and showing up when it mattered most.

Almost a year later, #TeamOne stands stronger, more united and even more committed to using creativity and communication in service of our country.

Special thanks to SSP @dennisbroox for presenting us with this award and sharing in such a meaningful moment.

It remains an incredible honour to serve Area One, to serve Jamaica, and to help ensure that the world sees the @jamaicaconstabularyforce for what it continues to be…#AForce4Good. 🇯🇲

Jamaica has seen a significant decline in homicides, dropping from 1,515 in 2022 to 287 in 2026. But while the number of stabbing homicides has also fallen, they now account for a larger share of total homicides, increasing from 7% to 12%.

Senior Superintendent @dennisbroox, Senior Communication Strategist at the Jamaica Constabulary Force, joined us to unpack what these figures tell us about interpersonal violence and what more can be done to prevent homicides.
