These last few days have been a whirlwind, but my heart is overflowing with gratitude for every call, message, and prayer sent for my son. When your child gets hurt, it shakes you to your core — but knowing we weren’t walking through this alone has made all the difference.

From the moment that play was televised and everyone saw his injury, the love came pouring in. Every “How’s he doing?” every “Do you need anything?” every simple check-in reminded me just how strong our village is. It showed my son that he’s surrounded not only by family, but by an extended family of coaches, teammates, friends, and loved ones who truly care.

I haven’t been able to respond to everyone yet, but please know we see it all — the text messages, phone calls, Messenger and IG DMs. Truthfully, I was overwhelmed in that moment… seeing my baby lay there and not get up took me right back to his Pop Warner days. I jumped that gate rail/wall like it was second nature. Security tried to put me out, but the staff said, “Just take her through the tunnel — he’s being carted to the back.” I thank God I was there, because when the doctor read that X-ray and said he needed surgery, his tears weren’t from physical pain, they were from mental anguish. Football has been his passion since he was 4 years old, and hearing he had to sit out broke him. It hit differently than spring ball, this time, he knew it was going to cost him games.

But the road to healing will take patience, strength, and faith — and we’re already encouraged. He is resilient. This is only a minor setback for a major comeback. I know he’ll be back stronger, faster, and better than ever. He’s coming back with a vengeance, and his stock is going to rise to the top.

On behalf of my son and myself: thank you. Thank you for the prayers, thank you for the love, and thank you for lifting him (and me) up when the weight felt too heavy. What could have been a story of pain and worry has become one of hope, love, and gratitude because of all of you. 🙏🏾

We love y’all. 🏈🖤❤️
