Michael was serious about dessert. He’s probably having a shake with Vin Scully. Not a day goes by where i dont think about mike, miss him everyday.

I came back to Instagram after a while to share some photos of our good friend Mike who passed away the other day. I’ve never met a nicer person in my life. And it’s no wonder he was so kind if you ever met his family. I met Mike when I got sober a little over 5 years ago and I couldn’t have done it without him and our little group of Friends. Mike suffered from a more intense form of addiction. He was constantly fighting to get sober and never stopped trying even up until his last days. But when I think of Mike I think of bikes, dodgers, Hardcore music and great food. When I spent time with Mike, I always left wishing I could be as nice of a guy as him. Mike was a huge part of our community and he will be greatly missed. Thank you to the Ayers family for raising such a great human that we were all blessed to know.

I first met Mike about 6 years ago when we were both newly sober, I was coming back from a gnarly multi year relapse. We had a lot in common outside of both being addicts and became friends. By some miracle I managed to stay sober this time. Mike struggled, but he never gave up. He kept trying. He would always come back. Over the years we got closer, and around 2018/2019 there was a year long period where a group of us would FaceTime or get coffee together every single day. Over the course of the pandemic I became a dad and took on a lot of new responsibilities, Mike moved to Arizona and longer periods of time would go by without contact, but whenever we caught up it was like no time had passed. I look back on that year with nostalgia and fond memories. I’ve been devastated and trying to process since I got the new that you passed. It’s been beautiful to see how much you meant to everyone and how many lives you touched. I love and miss you very much

If anyone reading this is struggling with drugs/alcohol please know that it doesn’t have to end this way. There are people that can help, I’m one of them, please reach out to us.

RIP Michael Ayers 🕊
