Tonight we celebrate the man, the myth, the legend @derekcurl at @theandeshotel

After 6 years wearing the big hat around here, Derek is hanging it up as proprietor of the Andes Hotel.

While he’s stepping away from the day-to-day running of the hotel, Derek will remain very much part of hotel life - especially when there’s a big event, a special occasion, or an opportunity for a little mischief.

So this isn’t exactly a farewell. More of a changing of hats.

But it is an occasion to celebrate everything Derek has achieved here, and the enormous impact he has had on the hotel and on the town of Andes. The parties, the music, the gatherings, the friendships, the mad ideas that somehow transformed into much loved traditions that will continue to flourish.

And what better way to celebrate all of that than with one of Derek’s favorite things:

KARAOKE

Come raise a glass, grab the mic and help us celebrate Derek, the end of one chapter, and the beginning of the next.

I ask… how lucky can one man get?

“…it’s gruesome that someone so handsome should care.”

Fridays at the @theandeshotel with DJ @endayatito continue to be a wellspring that refills my cup. The way we all celebrate each other with joy, how we delight in seeing the other happy, how we sing along and linger as late as we can just to be in the company of folks we love… all of it reminds me of what a good life feels like. Thank you to the entire team at the hotel (especially @barrettrachel, @mauchiovaro, and our host with the most @derekcurl) for making this charming man so happy!
