How to look effortlessly cool bringing any sport to your senior photos 101:

The trick is you don’t actually have to wear full game-day gear! Mixing neutral pieces with your sport elements keeps your outfit clean and elevated so it pops without clashing.

We’ll get those classic, polished portraits Mom is dying to put on the mantel, then shift into natural moments by getting in the zone, gearing up, or just hanging out. You get a gallery that actually feels like you.

Want to weave your favorite sport into your senior session? DM me and let’s grab your golden hour spot!

Why incorporating your favorite sport is a favorite way to shoot senior pics:

When we bring your sport into your session, it’s all about capturing your actual love for the game. I love mixing effortlessly posed shots with total natural moments, like that focused look right before the play, a quick laugh in between takes, or just hanging out in that gorgeous golden hour light with your gear. You get a gallery with the absolute best of both worlds!

When I pulled off the highway and told my boys to hop out in front of an abandoned Realtor building, I could practically hear them thinking it was a joke. They saw a random, faded roadside structure—I saw perfect light and clean lines.

Half of being a photographer is just seeing the vision when everyone else thinks you’ve lost your mind. It’s the magic of being a photographer—learning to see past what’s actually there to capture what it can be.

Moral of the story: always trust Mom with a camera, even when the location looks sketchy from the passenger seat.

My boys definitely understood the assignment when I said give Luke a “hug”. I mean, are you even a brother if you don’t torment the youngest?

Some of my absolute favorite photos of my boys aren’t the ones where everyone is perfectly still, smiling at the camera, and looking pristine.

When they were younger, I was so obsessed with getting that classic, picture-perfect portrait. Everyone matching, everyone looking, everyone on cue. But looking back at those galleries now? The ones that actually make me stop, smile, and feel all the nostalgia are the chaotic, real ones.

Perfection is overrated. The real magic is always in the mess, the movement, and the authentic joy of them just being themselves.

Every single year, especially when we’re away on vacation, it’s a non-negotiable tradition for our family to stop and get our photos taken.

Fun fact: for our own photos, it’s just me, my trusty tripod and a remote!

Truthfully, that’s the main reason I got into photography in the first place. Years ago, I realized I was always the one standing behind the lens, completely missing out on being in the frame. I wanted to make sure I was actually part of our family’s memories, not just the one documenting them.

So to all the moms out there who are always the designated photographer, I see you and you deserve to be in these photos with the people you love most. I would absolutely love to book your family photoshoot and capture all of your special moments so you can finally step out from behind the camera and just enjoy being in the picture!

Since he is my senior, I’m cheating with back to back pictures of my son. 🤭

That characteristic smile and the glove that symbolizes countless hours of practice. Couldn’t be more proud to share this moment together! #SeniorSunday
