POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We are one week away. Are you ready to let your body remember?

Remember when the block belonged to all of us?

When we danced for real, hugged for real, looked out for the babies and the elders, and made joy the whole point of the day?

Once Upon A Time: A Block Party is coming back to Brooklyn, and this year we are going bigger, earlier, and deeper into the healing.
Saturday, September 19, 2026. 1pm to 8pm. Bed-Stuy, on Lexington Ave between Grand and Classon.

Real community connection, the old-school NYC way. DJs spinning the classics that keep the block moving all day.

Games, dancing, massages, good food, and space for every generation to remember, heal, and play.

All ages. All expressions. This is a healing space where play is the modality.

This is more than a party. It is a call to order for the community, carrying the torch from Dance Africa and the African Arts Festival into the future.

RSVP now on Partiful (link in bio) and bring the people you love. Come add your magic. See you on the block.

Better late than never right 😅? Walking the entire #manhattan was fun but lowkey hell. Us Cali natives just HAD to do the #broadwaycitywalk to cross off our #nyc bucket list. Shoutout to my @newbalance and the @hoka on the homegrirls that got us through 👟🥵.

Started at the end of the A train in Dyckman 207th st 🇩🇴 and ended at Battery Park 🗽. It took us about 10 hours because we definitely OVERLY stopped for food and drinks along this 🫣. But we love a #hotgirlwalk. Put this on your summer bucket list ASAP ☀️.

Movement is Liberation ❤️🖤💚 All classes at the Block are FREE on Friday, in honor of Juneteenth.

Come for all-Black playlists and joyful vibes as we hold space, celebrate, and reflect with our community. 💫

♨️ Special guest and student @miyairl will join co-founder @ashleighbello for 8:30am Vinyasa Flow to kick class off with a banger playlist and intention. ⤵️

“I’m a lawyer, writer and fellow Brooklynite from Kansas City with a background in community service and organizing. My desire to prioritize wellness in Black-owned spaces led me to The Block, where I’ve been welcomed into a supportive and inclusive community built on empowerment and celebration.”

We’re so excited to have her join us for class. See you there! 🎉

Make sure to RSVP on our website and tell your friends 🔗 in bio
