Thank you Foundation Rural & Regional Renewal for our $4,300 plant grant!

This grant will allow us to rehabilitate our Clubhouse land, strengthen denuded sand dunes soil structure, create bio links corridors, and increase coastal biodiversity and bandicoot habitat.

With a PIBC members and community planting day planned for autumn, it will involve weeding of invasive species, and planting of 500 endemic plants with local seed provenance with stakes and guards.

Thank you @basscoastshire for the support as the Land Managers, @harryderoth @derothandco for organising mowing and weeding and sourcing plant stock from @barbmartinbb -

And to Clubhouse Manager @natbun08 for the project idea and Tres @joanna_oreilly_stubbs for her enviro research and writing of grant application!

Little bit of lately 🙌 it’s been mostly work for me in the lead up to Christmas but this selection is much more enjoyable to look at than just work pics 😂

Huge shoutout to our PIBC members donating their time, skills, labour, and goods to improve our beloved club.

Harry De Roth and his team @derothandco @harryderoth for renewal of all the Clubhouse garden beds, and coordinating and sourcing appropriate native plantings, mulch and large statement rocks from island local Barb Martin Bushbank @barbmartinbb

Scotty Eastwood and his team @eastwoodpavingandlandscapes for recent concreting works, car park graveling, extra rocks, new firewood box and removal of old picnic tables.

Mick Clarke @mjclarkedevelopments is currently building replacement picnic outdoor tables, and Bobby Mathews and Mark Fairthorne are coordinating necessary roofing works with the installation of our new trophy hall windows. @bobby_matth_007 @markfairthorne350

All in time for the upcoming season!

A members newsletter will be going out next week with season dates, new competition format and membership information.

We also acknowledge that the accessibility enablement concreting project, was funded by Tiny Towns Fund through Regional Development Victoria Gippsland of $29,788. We are forever grateful!

Grateful for this life on this beautiful island that we call home 💘 filling our cups by being at the beach, spending time with friends, slow days and weekend family days. Blessed.
