Excited to see Forest Pavilion included in Lauren Gallow’s new book, New Northwest.

Forest Pavilion was designed for two avid gardeners who spend much of their lives outdoors, and their relationship with the land shaped every design decision, from site placement to material reuse.

We're thrilled to announce that our firm and the Silver Residence project is featured in New Northwest: Residential Architecture in the Evergreen State by Lauren Gallow @desert.ren. Many congratulations to Lauren and the team at @figure1publishing for this incredible book that documents the many amazing projects in the Pacific Northwest!

The Silver Residence is a mountain retreat for an extended family. The home was designed as an arrangement of different building, with each serving separate functions. The home's communal spaces are located in the large wooden building reminiscent of nearby wooden barns. The more private functions of the house are located in more contemporary corrugated volumes, situated as additions toward the forest. These two halves of the home are mediated by a white wall that runs the length of the building.

Pre-order is available at @figure1publishing and physical copies will be available in stores on November 10th.

Yesterday's office meeting was officially derailed, in the best possible way.⁠

The September/October issue of LUXE Interiors + Design just landed at the office, featuring our floating home project, Modern Beach House. We traded meeting notes for magazine pages while the team enjoyed seeing our hard work beautifully captured in print. ⁠

Wood is having a moment in the Pacific Northwest, and we are thrilled to see the Mukilteo Multimodal Ferry Terminal on the cover of The Seattle Times Pacific NW Magazine.

In “The Return of Wood,” design writer Lauren Gallow explores how mass timber is changing the way we think about architecture, from the character of our buildings to their relationship with forests, carbon, and human well-being.

The story includes several LMN projects, including Mukilteo Multimodal Ferry Terminal, Founders Hall at the University of Washington, Lakeview Office Building in Kirkland, and Forest Trailhead at Woodland Park Zoo.

We are especially excited to share a small preview of the new Forest Trailhead, where a visible mass plywood structure and skylights create an experience inspired by light filtering through the forest canopy.

Today, my Wind Knitting Factory tour across the United States made it into The New York Times.

Seeing the project featured in one of the world’s most influential newspapers, while I’m here on the road presenting Wind Knitting Factory and exploring the Dutch-American relationship through windmills, feels pretty surreal.

Over the past days, I’ve been travelling from Chicago to Holland, Michigan, meeting people, presenting the project and discovering how deeply Dutch heritage is woven into this part of America.

And there is still much more to come.

The coming week I will take Wind Knitting Factory to more windmills, more places and to more people, all as part of the 250th anniversary of America.

Very grateful to everyone who has helped make this tour possible, and especially excited to see where the wind takes us next.
