Still trying to figure out if that was a wedding… or a private jungle rave with all of my best friends coming together to celebrate the love of @joshhamilton and @alyssademarco.

Either way, watching their love up close has been one of the most beautiful gifts of my life.
 To witness what’s possible when two humans commit to creating a life together is something I hope we all get to experience.

J&A: the depth of how you two show up in the world is so evident with how everyone else shows up around you - and your wedding was a testament to the hat. I’m grateful to call you two some of my closest friends and glad you’re stuck with me for life. Love you both SO much.

I believe that we have far more control of the world we experience than we are taught.

Not by controlling externally, but through learning how to let it go internally.

Learning that changes what we perceive, which in turn changes what we experience.

One of the most interesting paradoxes in life is that the harder we push for change, the more stuck we often feel, while acceptance of our current situation often leads to the transformation we are looking for.

When we try to force change, we create resistance and tension, focusing on what we lack and becoming rigid in our efforts.

In contrast, acceptance of what is often dissolves resistance and aligns us with life’s more natural flow.

This shift fosters a space that enables change to occur organically and in that flow, we often get to where we wanted to be in the first place.

In a strange way, it is through the full acceptance of what is, mixed with the willingness to keep showing up, that we create the necessary fertile ground for the genuine change we are looking for.

One of my favourite things about coming back home is having the space to re-immerse myself in the experience of the trip andthe life I captured along the way.

When I’m out there, I genuinely try my best to be present and live the experience, rather than going through what I captured.

Besides the immediately anxiety of an overwhelming amount of photos, coming back home always gives me some space to slow it down and relive the experiences - and I usually end up finding myself in a tremendous amount of gratitude for the experiences I had. It’s really made me appreciate life in both big and small ways.

I started going through the Patagonia trip today and I’m feeling grateful for the boys for sending it to one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. In no particular order: @jossbiggins @henryhilton @michaelrkellman @jakobj10

Here’s some of my favourite moments from El Chalten – reliving them as a reminder to all of us how much is out there for us to explore.

Sorting through thousands of photos feels like an almost impossible. So here’s a quick dump of a few of my favourite photos that came up as I scrolled through the gallery.

For the last month, I’ve spent my time submersed in the jungles of Costa Rica – hiding out, working in stillness, rising and falling with the sun, soaking up nature, and surrounded by the natural world around me.

It is a month that has deeply changed me.

It’s made me see how wildly alive our world.
How vibrant nature can be.
And how deeply she wants to flourish.

It makes me think a lot about how we build structures we can thrive in…

PRINCIPLES THAT HAVE BROUGHT MEANING, FULFILLMENT, AND A LOT OF PEACE INTO MY LIFE.

Over the past few months, I’ve been compiling a (somewhat disorganized) list of principles that have consistently helped bring meaning, fulfillment, and peace into my life. They are principles that have been timeless in bringing me back home to myself. Hope some of them resonate.

When I’m feeling stagnant, I try and switch things up and let new energy flow in.

I switch up my environment.
I hang out with new people.
I read new books.
I listen to different podcasts.
I roadtrip to a new town.
I travel to a different country.
I go to new coffee shops.
I walk down different streets.
I change up my routine.

I shift things around until I begin moving into a space where I start to expect something unexpected to happen.

I embrace the sudden shifts that come with having new energy around me and create space for the possibility of some kind of breakthrough.

I let myself loosen up about how things “should” happen and become more open to whatever life can bring.

It takes trust, but I also know I have no idea what’s sitting on the other side and that feeling excites me.

Give yourself time. I see it everywhere. 30-year-olds (ummm, me), 20-year-olds (ummm, younger me), hell, even teenagers telling themselves they should be more successful than they are. Almost giving up because they aren’t “there yet”. Thinking that if they don’t make it happen in a few years that they screwed up/don’t have what it takes/aren’t smart enough, etc, etc, etc.

Don’t get blinded by the one, two or even 10 hype stories of people winningit early in life. The real truth is that most success happens after 10, 15, or even 20 years of dedication to your craft. This shit takes time.

If it’s what you want, keep working away. It’ll happen when it’s supposed to.
