Its a treat when when people take good photos of your bad body position. Round two with @theracesyndicate powered by @monsterenergy and @ktm_india Left the pit, took two laps, tested my second @kythelmetsindia helmet in a span of less than two weeks. The helmet did it's job, the touring gear I was wearing on track, not so much. It was a rude reminder a) that I am but a mere mortal who's knees are very human and b) to wear the goddamn leathers. A couple of weeks of healing, and right back at it. Thank you @saimah_baig @jatinpurabia06 @priyankatambe_ and @ritika_lahiri @raftaar.racing for the photos, bikes, the experience, and for scraping me off the tarmac.

I'm not good at being bad at things. When it comes to biking events, my lack of skill tends to go unnoticed, because I'm quick- I breeze through zonal rounds and qualifications quite comfortably by simply ripping the throttle open and asking corners really, really nicely not to wipe me out- and up until this point, it had worked. So when I attended my first ever legitimate track day with @isbkracing at @madras_international_circuit , I basically had to have my hat and eat it too. The first thing I did when I got on track with my brand new @kythelmetsindia FIM certified helmet (that matches my boots and everything), was become its crash test dummy- I asked C3 really, really nicely to not wipe me out, and it told me to go to hell. Big boy crashes are surreal, and @ixon_official and @alpinestars.india let me walk away to tell the tale. I spent the rest of the weekend finally having a proffesional understanding of how little I actually know about track riding on two wheels, watching people on the same R15s as me gaining 20 WHOLE SECONDS that I just couldnt find, making turns at speeds that I cant quite touch, and taming vehicles much larger and above my own capabilities to control, and with experience older than I am. I was slow. My weight is completely on my handlebars. My feet are in the wrong place. My knees are in the wrong place. My head is in the wrong place. Hell, the bike is in the wrong place. It admittedly stressed me out...but that wasnt a bad thing. It meant I wanted to catch up. It means that between the aforementioned ego-check, and the fact that all us were willing to be in full leathers in a Chennai summer, means that there is the room to grow still, and I hope that room keeps growing. I quite shamelessly joined the level 1 and 2 sessions on advice, thoroughly enjoyed doing the braking and figure 8 skills, and brought home with me an entire regiment to start riding more professionally. I am so glad I have a long way to go. Thank you to @saimah_baig @prostho_95 for opening the doors up to this world for me.
