Comm Games Part 3.

And just like that, the Commonwealth Games — and my time in Glasgow — have come to an end.

A huge thank you to Australian Athletics for trusting me to come along and photograph this team. It’s been a real privilege to be trackside capturing the performances, the celebrations and all those moments in between.

To the officials, volunteers, supporters and the people of Glasgow — thank you for creating such a special environment for our athletes to compete in.

And finally, to our athletes. Thank you for letting me share a small part of your journey. For the performances, the emotion and the moments that made these Games so memorable. It’s been an absolute pleasure photographing you.

Safe travels home — and I’ll see you trackside. 🇦🇺

A leap to be proud of 🇦🇺

A second attempt jump of 13.81m secured 4th place for Desleigh Owusu in the Women’s Triple Jump, producing Australia’s best ever Commonwealth Games result in the event, moving past Linda Leverton’s 5th-place finish from 2014 🤝

Did you know Blacktown City has three athletes competing at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow?

Good luck to Desleigh Owusu from Marsden Park and Isaac Beacroft from Quakers Hill Little Athletics who compete soon. Desleigh is in action early tomorrow (AEST) in the triple jump, while Isaac is in the 10km race walk early Saturday morning (AEST).

Last week I congratulated Tim Hodge from Blacktown Swim Club on being Australia’s King’s Baton bearer. He has since won gold and bronze medals. Incredible effort.

The future of Australian athletics is in great hands.

This is a celebration of some of the incredible rising POC and First Nations athletes helping shape the future of Australian track and field. From every corner of the country, these young stars are breaking barriers, achieving remarkable things and proudly representing Australia on the national and international stage.

Their talent, resilience and dedication are inspiring the next generation to dream bigger, work harder and believe that they belong too. Representation matters, and it’s exciting to see so many young athletes from diverse communities wearing the green and gold with pride.

Did we miss a rising POC or First Nations athlete who deserves to be celebrated? Tag them in the comments, we’d love to recognise more incredible talent.

Congratulations to every athlete featured on this list. Wishing you all continued success as you chase your dreams and inspire the generations coming after you. We’re proud to be following your journey. 💚💛
