Great change begins with a voice, quiet at first but unyielding.
A girl who believes she matters.
A woman who refuses to be ignored.
A community that rises when courage meets compassion.

This International Women's Day, we celebrate the women who speak up, stand strong, and inspire the next generation to do the same. Your voice can change the world-never underestimate it.

Stepping into history with grace, Desiree Marie Wisotosky radiates as Reyna Elena, embodying beauty, heritage, and tradition. Draped in royal blue and crowned in dazzling jewels, she leads the Santacruzan procession with pride. More than a celebration, her presence pays tribute to Filipino faith, resilience, and the enduring spirit of community that transcends generations and borders.
.
A luminous figure emerges from the festivities, a beacon of tradition and pride. Gliding through the Flatiron District, she carries centuries of heritage with each step. The 2024 Philippine Parade pulses with a fusion of past and present as she leads in a stunning Filipiniana gown, its deep blue fabric gleaming under the sun. Her jeweled crown and sash mark her as Reyna Elena, reviving a cherished tradition in the heart of New York City. With a bouquet in hand and a regal smile, she captivates the crowd, transforming the streets into a tribute to cultural reverence—bridging Manila and Manhattan in a powerful display of pride.

Sit down eat your slice of pea cha and be quiet! 🪑 🤐 🤌🏽

This round of our Accent Challenge stumped most of our contestants! 🗣️😵 😅

For some context, our host Jason Encite grew up hearing this word confused with the Filipino vegetable “pechay,” which is the cousin of the more known bok choy. Is it an Ilongo thing only or y’all familiar what this vegetable is? Hope that helps you figure it out! 💡🥬 🤷🏻‍♂️🫤

We had some phrases of English words pronounced with a Filipino accent, and our contestants tried to figure them out! 🤔💭⁉️

Thanks to our guests for playing and having a few laughs in the process! 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣🤷🏻‍♂️
