🌷May 2026🌷

This month flew by like a bee looking for its next flower. Got to travel back to MI to meet the new puppy and hangout with family, made delicious food, passed my first masters level class, scheduled 3 job interviews, baked a ton, played some pickleball, and had endless game nights 🫶

If you don't know about Detroit's history of Robocop, look no further 🤣🤘

Starting in 2011 with Kickstarter, over the years the prospect of a Robocop statue was in the works.

It originally started as an idea after the mayor asked for suggestions to improve the city, and while the mayor didn't push the idea, the internet pushed further 🤣

The Kickstarter raised $67,436 in six days, and it was in the works! The Detroit based restoration firm Venus Bronze Works started working on it, but due to setbacks with licensing, the owner of the company getting cancer, and the statue weighing a ton, it wasn't officially erected until December 2025 💖

In other news, we had a complimentary steamy hallways to our Airbnb room, I forgot my $15 breakfast and starved, and got to meet one of my favorite artists Joe Capobianco!

It's always a good time wherever we go, but I have to say that Detroit as a whole is one of my favorite places 💖💖💖
