I was an introvert child. Nobody talked to me in school. I had no friends. I usually sat alone on the last bench. Even during lunch, I used to wander around the campus alone. Whenever I tried interacting with the children, they mocked me and called me by numerous funny names. They played pranks on me and I was always landed myself in trouble. I was clearly a misfit. I tried participating in co-curricular activities to be more active in school. Once I even stood for the monitor elections in my class. Not even a single student voted for me. I was standing there looking at the floor embarrassed. I hated school. This took a toll on my mental health. And unfortunately, I failed in class 11th. Parents and teachers were angry with me. My classmates looked down at me as a failure. I had to repeat my class. The new students were not even ready to sit next to me. It was frustrating. With time, this frustration transformed into aggression. I started picking up unnecessary fights. ⁣
⁣
One day when teachers thought I was getting out of control, they sent me to our school counselor. Ma'am talked to me for an hour. I broke down. For the first time in my life, I felt somebody heard me. She told me several ways to cope up. ⁣
⁣
I started studying and answering in class. One day in the canteen, I went and sat beside some boys of my class. Surprisingly, they talked to me. We started hanging out often. They had a sheer interest in music. I too started listening to raps and pop music. But when I listened to them, I always had a different tune and set of words going on in my head. Once I picked a paper and wrote them down. My friends appreciated me and even encouraged me to record a video. I was elated. I didn't have any resources. I used earphones and a strainer and uploaded a video on YouTube. But, the sound quality wasn't good.⁣
⁣
I gathered all my courage and told my parents that I wanted to be a rapper. They believed in me. I instantly took a welding job. I have been working and saving for months now. I'll work till I save enough to follow my passion and become a rapper.⁣
