CENOPHAGE (formerly Sknkvr)

Natural State harsh noise duo P R U D E (who also stay busy with label Abhorrent A.D. & their distro arm Melomania) make their San Antonio debut at west side goth haus O’Death with a bevy of support from the city’s premier noise denizens…

Amongst the openers are recently-returned dense ambient/audio collage veteran Smokey Emery, old-school industrial/power electronic fanatics Leg Market, suffocating soundscape sorceror Southern Charm, electronic rodent imperator Vermin Empire, and from the ashes of Sknkvr comes the first set as Cenophage… not to be missed!

embrace what you love
ty @n8noface

N8NOFACE closed out the Texas Takeover Tour at @papertigersatx Saturday night, and San Antonio sent him off right.

Long Beach by way of Tucson, Nathan Hose has spent years building his narco-punk sound, he calls it, dark electronics and DIY grit. the @stonesthrow signing brought new ears without changing what makes it work.

the set was loud, physical, and unapologetic.

Smokey Emery’s Last Stand!
.
Thanks to the performers, and Greh for DJing.

I’m a bit behind with photos since I literally took thousands at Swap Meet and Betathon, on Saturday and Sunday, what with all the singers and performers. But this show was relatively straightforward in that regard, so these shots jumped the queue.

Artist Spotlight:

@smokeyemery

Smokey Emery is the long-running project of Daniel Hipólito ( @developments__ ), a Los Angeles-based tape music composer and sound artist. Active since 1994, beginning in Houston, Hipólito has cultivated a distinct approach to experimental sound, rooted in analog processes and personal reflection. Smokey Emery’s dense ambient soundscapes weave together deliberate, found, and incidental sounds into immersive audio collages that mirror memory, environment, and lived experience. His work has been released on a wide range of respected labels including Astral Spirits, Obsolete Future, @chondriticsound , @holodeckrecords , Somatic, and more.

I’m thrilled to have Smokey Emery perform at the second annual IEMF! It’s all going down on Saturday, June 28th at @audiowildstudios !
