Last year I designed a house in the desert. I’m ready to build it this year.
More to come.

About a year ago I invested in this renovation project. As most of you know, development is my passion. I develop clothes, concepts, people, food and now my new thing is homes. I enjoy turning nothing into something, ugly into pretty and for some reason the most challenging the better. I’m so happy about how this house turned out. I personally picked all of the materials, colors, hardware, plants, etc. It wasn’t easy but I had fun doing it. Now it’s up for rent and I’m ready to do it again. If you ever need advice, just ask me!
p.s. I love the unfinished plywood wall look, this should be a new trend.

Bday gift to myself 🏠

Buying a house was not part of the plan right now at all, but it sort of landed on my lap and I couldn’t say no to this gem.

This 1920s Spanish home is so charming but needed complete renovation, a lot of upgrades and so much love.

The general contractor who was going to take on the project, quit on me on his first day.
So I had to step in and take the role of a contractor myself. I interviewed and hired workers and in just 4 weeks, we have built a new roof, repaired and sanded all walls, upgraded electrical, installed a new bathroom, demolished unwanted floor tiles and furniture, and now just waiting on floor sanding and paint.
It’s been complete chaos!!
And all while having a full time job…

This came with a bag of emotions, lots of anxiety attacks and meltdowns, but nonetheless I’m extremely grateful!!!

I’ve learned so much about home remodels and construction and building and safety and sourcing materials and pricing.
I now know who much each thing should costs, and that is huge for me. No one can fool me now!!

Anyway!!! I’m almost there and I’m so excited to get this place done and to move in, eventually.

In the next few weeks, I will be focusing on the design details and that will be more fun.
I finally found a tile for my bathroom and now going to start looking for fixtures and lighting and soon, landscaping.

You can now ask me anything about home remodels and new builds, I’m here to help.
Or you can just hire me :)

Stay tuned for more…

I build this back unit in six months. I bought the main house back in March, right when Covid just hit. Everyone told me to pull out of the deal because I wouldn’t make any money due to the obvious. I was a hair away from pulling out but deep in my gut, I knew that this would be a great investment, so I didn’t. 6 months later, I finished building a back unit and now they are both rented out. Moral of the story, always listen to your gut.
99% of the time, you already know the answer. If you stay focused, consistent, try to make good decisions and work smart, everything will always work out for the best. I really enjoyed this project, I designed the 1 bedroom small unit from scratch. Worked with an architect to get plans and permits, found a contractor, sourced all of the materials and finishing details, and all while having a full time job in fashion, which is nuts. I was only able to work on this on the weekends but I learned so much. Made expensive mistakes along the way, it was so much work but all worth it now. So happy with how it all turned out.
