That Friday finish line feeling in honor of the annual Devil Mountain race weekend!!
🎉🎉📸📸
This was my first time participating in this event, and decided to register both myself and Baloo for 2 races and make it our own race challenge.
We ran the 5K together followed by an hour break before we ran the 1 mile doggie dash.
I am incredibly proud of Baloo for running 2 races back to back and running a total of 4.1 miles.
I was so happy to see that he actually loved doing both races and now I know, I could possibly do a 10K race with him, but for now…we will keep our races together at the 5K distance.

When my creativity with choice of race outfits for myself and Baloo get noticed by the race photographers during the 1 mile doggie dash and we get featured in the IG post with a few other race photos from the annual @devilmountainrun race weekend event!!

Side note: This was both Baloo’s and I’s second race of the event, we did the 5K race about an hour before this one. Our very first race challenge together, and also earning 2 medals each, 1 for each race.

Double Medal Monday (part 2 of 2) in honor of the annual Devil Mountain race in Danville, offering distances of 10K, 5K, kids run and 1 mile doggie dash.
This is my first time participating in this event, and decided to register both myself and Baloo for 2 races and make it our own race challenge.
We ran the 5K together followed by an hour break before we ran the 1 mile doggie dash.
I am incredibly proud of Baloo for running 2 races back to back and running a total of 4.1 miles.
It was such a fun surprise to run into not just one but two of my running friends…first I saw my friend Dorothy after crossing the finish line of the 5K race and then I saw my friend Minji while waiting for the 1 mile doggie dash to start.

The weather was ideal for spending our first half of the day in downtown Danville…it was cool and overcast in the early morning with the sun peeking out in the late morning.

How do you know your training is actually working?

Because most days… it doesn’t feel like it.

The pace feels off.
The legs feel heavy.
You start wondering if all those early mornings even matter.

Then race day shows up.

And suddenly—
you’re stronger than you expected.
You’re holding a pace you used to chase.
You’re finishing with something left.

Today at @devilmountainrun , it showed.

Mile. 5K. 10K.
Finish lines crossed.
Age group medals earned.
Confidence built.

Not because of one perfect run—
but because they kept showing up when it didn’t feel like it was working.

That’s how you know.

I’ve always said if I kept doing the same thing, I’d eventually win!! I came in second in my age group by just over a minute. Next year, I’ll train for it! 😎😎😎
