Dark leafy greens: the cheapest performance upgrade you’re skipping. 🥬

Spinach, kale, chard, collards, arugula. Small footprint on the plate, big return for the mission.
What they bring:

Nitrates → better blood flow, better endurance
Vitamin K + calcium → bone durability under load
Folate + iron → oxygen delivery and energy
Fiber + water → digestion that doesn’t slow you down

The move: get a fistful in at 1–2 meals a day. Sauté in olive oil, blend into a shake, or pile them under whatever protein you’re already eating. Fat helps you absorb the fat-soluble vitamins, so don’t eat them naked.

No supplement replaces real greens. Handle your standard. 💪

What a ride. It is hard to put 36 years of whistle-blowing, early mornings, and sweat into a single post, but here it goes.
Back in 1990, while I was still just a kid in high school, I started coaching and mentoring others. I didn’t know it then, but God was already writing the script for my entire life. From running out onto the field at Eastern Illinois University, to finishing my engineering degree at New Mexico State, to living out a dream of playing 8 years of Football for my profession across 4 different states. Football took me everywhere. But when I packed up and moved to Scottsdale in September of 2001, the Valley officially became home. For the last 25 years, I have had the absolute honor and privilege of serving as a strength and performance coach in Arizona. Every single day with each and every athlete was a blessing. During that time I have coached the entire spectrum of humanity. Aspiring 8-year-old kids with big dreams, 80-year-old Senior Olympians who refused to let age dictate their lifestyle, All-Pro NFL players, MLB All-Stars, Olympic Gold Medalists, WWE World Champions, moms, dads, husbands, and wives.
To the athletes and families of the Valley: Thank you. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for buying into the standard, for enduring the heavy days, and for trusting me with your most precious gifts, your children. Watching them grow from wide-eyed kids into elite competitors, and more importantly, into incredible men and women of character, has been the greatest reward of my career. About a week ago, On Thursday, June 11th, 2026, I coached my very last group session.
After 25 years of dedicating my days to everyone else’s families, it is finally time to fully dedicate my days to mine. I am stepping away from coaching to focus entirely on my wife and girls. They have sacrificed so much to let me chase this passion, and now, they get 100% of me. I might be stepping off the weight room floor, but the relationships, the memories, and the bond we built through sacrifice, sweat, and commitment will last a lifetime.
Thank you, Arizona. It has been an honor to serve you.
Coach EB

My heart is overflowing with gratitude! This past weekend was truly one of the most special of my life. Friday, January 24th, I celebrated my 50th birthday, and on Saturday, my incredible wife, Melissa, along with my amazing daughters, Gabbie, Sophie, and Eliana, threw me a party! They managed to pull together an unforgettable evening with about 50 of my dearest friends on very short notice. Melissa, you are a force of nature! The way you transformed our home and orchestrated everything was simply breathtaking. Thank you for pouring your heart into making this milestone so memorable. I love you more than words can say.

To my girls, Gabbie, Sophie, and Eliana: your love and support mean the world to me. Having you by my side, always cheering me on, is the greatest gift I could ask for. You make every day brighter. (Sorry you missed Gab, but happy you are feeling better)

And to all my dear friends and family who were able to celebrate with me, and to those who sent the most touching letters and video messages: thank you. Words cannot express how deeply your kind words resonated with me. Hearing stories of the impact I’ve had on your lives is truly humbling and inspiring. It reinforces my life’s mission to help others grow and live better lives. I strive every day to learn something, teach something, and make a difference in someone’s life, and your messages have filled my cup to overflowing. I am so blessed to have you all in my life. Thank you for making my 50th birthday so incredibly special. I feel so loved and seen. Special shout out to wildfire food truck for Always bringing the heat.
