It’s crazy the pivots you make in life and where everything takes you.

Much of my earlier life used to be “Let’s go meet up for drinks for a couple hours” which turned to 8 hours. I’m not here to judge and there is nothing wrong with that in my opinion.

But these days, the invites are “Let’s go to @icryo.wichita and get compression therapy on our legs” which turns to let’s now go sit in a sauna for red light therapy, sweat like crazy and then go step inside a chamber where it’s -140 degrees or whatever and freeze our tail off.

Honestly, it was much needed for my recovery and nice to just sit down and talk with friends about everything we went thru plus get inspired for the next challenges in life.

And while I thought my run journey was over for this year. I’m joining @f88runclub and headed down to @visitokc to run the @okcmarathon Half Marathon.

Running for two and a half hours isn’t exactly what I consider to be the most ideal way to celebrate my birthday weekend but like I said. “It’s crazy the pivots you make in life and where everything takes you.“

Prairie Fire Full Marathon🏃🏾‍♂️

I did not get my goal of sub 9 minute pace, but I wasn’t far from it. And I did finish! That’s the biggest accomplishment I could’ve asked for. The switch in energy going from mile 12-14 was fast. Less excitement, less faces. The race had just begun. I was warned about hitting “a wall” by @injured.beast the day before. And I definitely knew when I hit it at mile 19. It got really dark during that time, and I played lots of gospel music for the next few miles. But when I saw my kids and my wife’s family all there waiting to support me before I hit mile 22, I broke down and cried. But I knew I still had a little more ways to go. Big shoutout to everyone who supported Devin & I along the race, huge shoutout to @itscoke_3 and Blake who was waiting for me shortly after mile 25 to help support me to the finish. I needed that more than ever. Huge shoutout to my wife who followed Devin and I around the city for those 26 miles, and was ready for us for anything we needed. And a huge thank you to my guy @devinslane_ who ran and suffered the majority of those miles right by my side. We did something HARD brother, and I’m very proud of you! Cheers to our first marathon! Thank you for an incredible event @runprairiefire

2026 Prairie Fire Half Marathon

2nd Place In Age Group

12th Overall out of 1481

Time: 1:19:17 (6:03 pace) - bib time 1:19:51

21 Weeks of Prep.

821 miles.

I set a goal that scared me.

I set a goal that only 10% of me believed was possible.

That’s all it takes is a little belief, a plan, unwavering consistency and good people around you.

My goal has always been to hopefully inspire a few people in this life and I inspired myself with this one:)

Congrats to all the @run__316 crew who crushed their races today, so many PRs, 1st time runners and joy experienced 🤘🏼

Thank you to everyone who cheered me on today, the love I don’t take for granted. The support from friends & family makes it all so special‼️

Run For God.

Good Vibes.

Good Miles.
